This review is from: Mixed-Marriage Daughter (Hardcover)
I loved this book. Hila Colman seems like a very serious and strong writer. In this Book Sophie considers herself to be hlaf-Jewish, because her mom's a Jew and her dad is not. But people keep telling her that there is no such thing as HALF-Jewish. If your mother's a Jew, then you're a Jew, I happen to find that very dumb. Sophie dates a boy named Ricky and this book, and he's a blond blue-eyed white boy, and her own mother thinks that she should not date him, even though she herself married a white man. Ricky's parents are Anti-Sematic. The Jew's in town are kinda pissed off at Sophie because she doesn't want to hang out with them. Sophie doesn't believe that she should HAVE to befriend them, especially when they aren't all that friendly.
