Topics include altering photographs, creating mail art, making poems from daily newspapers, and much more. Comprehensive materials lists are included with each project, while artist tips, suggested color palettes, and detailed sidebars complement the chapters. Whether you are a beginning artist who wants to learn the fundamentals of mixed media or an experienced artist who is eager to learn new approaches to the medium, Mixed Media Workshop has something for everybody.

Many art books on the market today do not tell you "how. This book does. Six artists with a variety of styles and approaches illustrate how they work. It's a good book for beginners or intermediate artists. I enjoyed the journey. I will pick it up again and again.

Nice packaging and cover design, but for anybody other than a complete beginner, I would give this book a pass, in a hurry. Like so many crafts books in the past few years, the projects themselves are ugly and poorly made. There are only a few projects, and most of those are either unbelievably remedial, or just plain unattractive and unappealing. If on the other hand you like the projects, there are step by step instructions with illustrations. I just don't recommend it for anybody with any artistic sense at all.

I would recommend this book to anyone wishing to start working on mixed media, without having any formal art training.

I wish I'd found this on Amazon before I bought it at a brick & mortar store, for a good bit more. That said, it was worth what I spent. Some great actual how-to info from 6 different artists. Each with a different style of mixed-media artistry. How to age photos, work with wood, textures, and a variety of mediums. I'm looking forward to actually going through each of the tutorials.

Has some great ideas inside of it and some techniques that I can use in various other projects. I'd definitely recommend it for someone just starting out into mixed media artwork. It might be a little basic for a more experienced artist.

This is one of many creative inspiration and technique books that have flooded the market, but I found it particularly useful for my own purposes. This one had no problem finding a home on my bookshelf!
