This review is from: Mixer Presents Slam in America (Audio CD)
Slam consistently deliver tight techno grooves that keep you dancing all night. This double cd is a perfect encapsulation of their sound. It's not as good as their incredible double mix "Past lessons, Future Theories" but it is a worthy follow up.CD One starts off ocean deep with Aril Brikha's Aqua. It stays pretty deep and dubby until about about song ten but that's not a drawback. This is the sound of the early evening that, dare I say it, sounds like a sort of midtempo Underground Resistance. CD Two cuts right to the chase and has the more surefire floorfillers. From the super soulful "On a Day" by Percy X to the spectacular, bass heavy, Merengue by Samuel L. Sessions. There's also two tracks from the always dependable Oxia and Slam end their mix with one of their own stormers, Virtuoso. These guys never fail to deliver. Buy everything by them. |
