Gift Mixes
Just what I was looking for, recipes for Jar mixes to give as gifts for Christmas. There were many more recipes than I had thought, and all of them are good.

Good, but often doesn't fit jar
I bought this book to make some gift mixes for holiday gifts. I used this book, along with several others. The recipes were good, but there are only about 5-6 cookie recipes and the rest are pies, breakfast pastries and other coffee/tea mixes. It's a nice variety, but my biggest reason for not rating it higher is that many of the recipes do not fit in a quart-sized jar,...

I bought this book to make some gift mixes for holiday gifts. I used this book, along with several others. The recipes were good, but there are only about 5-6 cookie recipes and the rest are pies, breakfast pastries and other coffee/tea mixes. It's a nice variety, but my biggest reason for not rating it higher is that many of the recipes do not fit in a quart-sized jar, even when pressed tightly. One quart equals 4 cups, and many recipes have 5 or more cups worth of dry ingredients. My experience is that you can only get about 4 to 4 1/2 cups worth of dry ingredients packed tightly into the quart sized jars.
