I am looking at this to buy for my mother just for that purpose! Did you ever find out if it could be used for that? Thanks!

Thanks girl! :) I actually started looking at some of the discussions below regarding the cuisinart. Apparently it's great at first, but then bums out after 4 or 5 months. Several people in the discussion have sang the praises of Kitchen Aid. I'm researching that one now. Good luck with whatever you find to mix your peanut butter! :)

No it can't, but my full-size Cuisinart processor does a great job of it.

Vita Mix is the only machine that will do peanut butter. I love this machine, use it every morning for a smoothie, whip up peanut, almond or macadamia nut butters. While it is expensive, has a seven year guarantee, a very versatile machine.
