5.0 out of 5 stars This is too hot
There truly exists a lack of words to describe the wickedness of this album. Dimitri does it again mixing afro-cuban drums, thumping bass, and bopping tunes to create sounds that resonate disco, soul jazz, and electro grooves. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not very impressed
I own most of Dim's stuff, this is definately "NOT" one of his artistic highpoints. Don't get me wrong, it's entertaining if you want to hear some middle of the road house music but it's not a must have. In case you are looking to purchase some dimitiri, try the playboy mansion, disco forever or his more loungy album sacre(sorry for the messed up...

Dimitri does it again mixing afro-cuban drums, thumping bass, and bopping tunes to create sounds that resonate disco, soul jazz, and electro grooves. Once you put this album on you will not take it off, track 6 alone temps you enough with its dance backbeat groove overlapped by a waving hawainian sample from an old 1950's hollywood film. If you like Thievery Corporation, with a little Everything But The Girl, topped with some Jamiroquai then this is the album for you. The album is hot, and the clubs and lounges that play it even hotter.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a re release, July 27, 2001

Imagine my excitement when I saw that there was a new CD from the awesome Dimitri. then imagine my chagrin when I discovered it is a re-release marketing ploy.

Sure this is a great cd, but don't buy it if you already have "Mixmag Presents Monsieur Dimitri's De-Luxe House Of Funk" which sat in my cd player for practically all of 1998 and defined that summer for me.-- it's the same CD repackaged. I almost bought it again since I buy anything and everything from Dimitri.

C'mon Dimitri, put out something new!

There are pretty good mixes in this cd; I specially like track 4,5 and if you like mondo grosso, you can't find the mix of Vibe PM in other cd, so this is another must have cd from dimitri..

4.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware!!!, August 6, 2001

The tracks on this record are selected from the mid and late 90's. As I understand it, this CD was released a few years ago under a different package. The cover and liner notes are deceptive: "dreamily modern". Nevertheless, it's a fine piece of mixing and grooving. You're sure to enjoy it if you haven't heard these tracks before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, but still a re-run!!!, September 8, 2001

Well, I must admit that I got a bit disappointed of the fact that it's a second version of Dimitris brilliant mix.

THAT doesn't change the fact, that this album is really worth buying, because it's Dimitri when he's best. I wanted to rate it 4½ because of the Björk-track (Isobel, #14), but otherwise it's wonderful.
The album is usable for parties, dinners, lunches or just for a relaxing moment.

A must, if you haven't got Dimitris de-luxe house of funk.

Interestingly enough, I actually found this album years ago on Kazaa. In all honesty, I didn't know there was actually a CD available. All in all, though, the tracks on here are stellar save for a couple of garbage songs here and there. I will say, though, that if you aren't grooving to "May the Funk Be With You" I don't know what will.

its pretty good. Better than most of the cds i have. I especially like that the tracks are pretty varied.. The best track is the last one because its a bjork remix.. and bjork is magical.

1.0 out of 5 stars This sounds like elevator music!, August 10, 2001

I got this cd yesterday, I'm into this house-music period, But when I played this cd it was nasty, I feel Asleep!! and to think I was looking for a cd to pump me up for a friday night and I got this. If you like Jazzy-House buy it, but if you are looking for something more intense, forget it!
