3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay...
Great things don't last long I suppose.
After a while, the knee pads don't hold up anymore. When I get sweaty (really sweaty), my knee pads would slide off when diving for a ball--just recently got myself a nice colorful bruise from the gym floor.

I do wash my knee pads often, but thru time it can only take so much before it starts to stink and you...

I do wash my knee pads often, but thru time it can only take so much before it starts to stink and you can't do anything about it. I've been told to get two knee pads and alternate them as well as other remedies.

I like how compact these are, unlike the other brands that bulge--like you have a disfigured knee. (Besides, that's so 80's!)

Probably not going to purchase another Mizuno, but will try other brands until I find the best one for me: aesthetics, comfort, and durability.

3.0 out of 5 stars too thin, November 9, 2007

Excellent for practice, but not for competition...it is too thin and the pad wears out a little faster than I expected. Washing machine made it at least 1/8" thinner...
overall it is ok.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mizuno Kneepads, September 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We bought these on the suggestion of my daughter's volleyball coach and they were less expensive then the kneepads I usually buy. They were too long and uncomfortable and did not allow my daughter to move around like she usually does. I guess she is just used to the smaller shorter profile kneepads.

This the preferred kneepad for my daughter and son. They've tried others but say this is their favorite. They each have about 4 pairs of this one and have no complaints.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit, protects well, November 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these kneepads to replace my pair of Under Armour kneepads, b/c the UA were just too tight and restrictive (even though they were a size large). I am 6'-4", and could not find any slim-looking pads in an appropriate size to fit (my knee is 17.5").

I bought this pair in a large b/c I found the measurements on another website, and these fit really well. They are just a bit longer than the UA pair, so they cover more of my leg, and they are not too tight around my knee. Overall, a great fit.

They also provide nice impact protection all around the knee, without being too bulky. I need to pull them up every now and then while on the court, but I think that comes with any knee pad. They seem to be holding up fairly well, though I have not washed them yet.

I've been using these for a few months of recreational volleyball, and am pleased overall with my purchase. The padding is very good (no bruised knees) and the pads stay in place. The only downside (and this is being picky, I think) is that I feel like the cuff bunches a little under the padded part and behind the knees, but in all fairness I haven't tried another pair of pads since I played in high school (perhaps all knee pads do this, I don't know). This really is a minor complaint, and I would not hesitate to purchase another set. They seem to hold up fine in the washer as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sizing, January 21, 2008
I own the same kind in black, however that pair was ordered from somewhere else. Here, I find that the adult size is much bigger than I thought, and for a high school player, I almost think that the junior size would fit better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well - small but effective, December 10, 2011

Daughter plays club and varsity girl's vball (plays libero, opposit hitter, middle blocker). Dives and digs alot. She prefers this over the larger, bulkier knee pads. I would recommend this for indoor play.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the purchase, June 23, 2011

My son has been playing volleyball for almost 5 years. He is very happy with the knee pads. He is now more confident to hit the floor with his knees to save balls. We'll definitely buy again. Thank you.
