Mizuno Wave Inspire 6,

I bought a pair of these locally several months ago based on recommendations from a local triathlon outfitter and have loved running in them. When I reached almost 400 miles on them, I bought a second pair from Amazon to break in so they are ready for a Ragnar Relay in November. These are not the lightest shoes by far, but the comfort and stability of them for some amount of supination in my stride makes them the only shoe I want to run in at this point. I was suffering from shin splints so much that my mileage had dwindled to almost nothing each week until I bought the first pair of these and started working my mileage back up. I have a pair of Asic Gel-Strike shoes that have been reduced to everyday shoes because they are nowhere near as comfortable to run in as the Mizunos.

I got this shoe after I had some shin pain. I have low arches and overpronate. I did not get the pains with these shoes and I have been wearing them ever since. No problems with the shoes now, we'll see in 500 miles.

I'm on my second pair of Wave Inspires and they've been good to me. I'm about to buy a third pair (one for the gym, one for the road). FYI, Mizumo apparently increments the model number each year. My first pair was a Wave Inspire 5 and the second pair is the Wave Inspire 6. The newest model out is Wave Inspire 7.
I run in a size that's 1/2 larger than my street shoes and the toe box in the Wave Inspire is roomy enough that they don't jam my toes. I had my stride/gait analyzed by a Mizumo factory rep at my local running store and the support provided by the Wave Inspire fits my stride/gait. I run about 25 miles a week and was having some IT band irritation at the knees until I switched to these shoes. But your results may vary depending on your running patterns. Mizumo has many different models that vary by shoe weight and the degree of support provided. Get a feel for what model is best for you with the Mizumo precision fit analyzer at [..] or have your running analyzed at your local running store.

This shoe provided the balance of cushioning and stability I was looking for as a larger framed runner. The cushioning did seem to increase as the run progressed which is a little odd, but a nice unspecified feature of the shoe. Longevity was not as expected, so have moved on to the Wave Creation to see if that is any better. So far, so good...

I am a size 8.5 women's and this size 7 fits me perfectly too. I use it to work out at kickboxing class and also for running outside. It is very lightweight, flexible, and comfortable. Mizuno is the most comfortable brand name for my feet, and I saved about $25 by shopping for a less common men's size than a very common women's size.

I've been running for many years and recently began having knee problems during my runs which would force me to stop. I finally realized that it was the type of shoes that I was wearing. I went to a specialized shoe store to find the right shoe for me and low and behold, Mizuno Wave Inspire 6 felt great. I ordered the exact same shoe at Amazon which was the best deal I could find anywhere. I plan on continuing to purchase other pairs in the future.

I was fitted by a great running shop in Chestnut St San Francisco for this shoe. The shoe has great support and whilst the right size, my toes are never under any pressure as there is good room at the front. Never experienced any complications and I am now ordering my second pair.

Light and Comfortable,

The Mizuno Wave Inspire 6 fits true to size and is very comfortable. Main use for this shoe is treadmill and walking. Has a unique sole pattern at heel that initially feels a bit weird as it tends to lean inward when standing. But, when running or walking it is not noticeable. Not the expert runner, so perhaps this will make perfect sense to others. As with any canvas shoe, they help keep your feet dry, however, if walking or running in rain be prepared to get wet feet.
All in all a great shoe and I highly recommend. |
