    First off, I am overweight at 220 lbs, low arch, and over pronator. I started with a couch to 5k program about 6 months ago and am now jogging 20+ miles a week training for my first half marathon. When I started the C25K Program I was wearing the Brooks Beast. While I liked this shoe as it prevented shin splint problems I had been plagued with in the past, it still seemed heavy and too stiff. I just switched to the Mizuno Wave Nirvana 7 and can say it is a huge improvement over the Brooks Beast. This shoe feels light yet still has plenty of stability. Highly recommended!

    I have really flat feet and overpronate. I've always needed to buy more high end shoes to help stabilize my feet. I've had 2 sets of Mizunos in the past to help support my awful feet, and they worked great... but pretty much would last about a year to a year and a half before I needed to replace them. I also am using Powerstep Pinnacle inserts to help force an arch in my feet.

    My last set of shoes were Brooks Beasts and they were decent... but wore down more quickly than the Mizunos, even with the Powersteps inserted. Eventually my feet started to become numb during a run, and my ankles would ache and hurt in the morning. I decided it was time to switch back to the Mizunos.

    I ran once in these and they feel great. My old set of Nirvana 4s were heavier and softer, so this is an exciting new shoe that's lighter (even with a Powerstep Pinnacle MAxx inserted) and seem to support me a lot better.

    If you're an overpronator, these are awesome. I would have ranked it 5 stars if I wouldn't need the Powerstep Pinnacle Maxx inserts... but my feet are almost defective, so I need them.

    Great shoe.

    Being very flat-footed, I find it hard to locate a good pair of shoes that offer enough arch support and are able to last a while. This shoe felt great for about the first 20 or so runs (2-4 mile each)then I noticed that the support began breaking down. Since then I have added another 10 -15 runs and it is still holding up, but just not as comfortable. I am 6'8" and my weight fluctuates between 205 - 215 lbs, so I wouldn't consider myself too be heavy. I wouldn't purchase another pair, but instead I will probably purchase another pair of New Balance or maybe experiment with another brand.

    Knee troubles limited my running the last couple years and when rejoining the running world I found myself a season behind in style. The Nirvana 7 made a great leap forward in terms of light weightness and comfort. Being a season behind also allows me to buy at a considerable discount. Always a good thing.

    Great looking shoes, but even though they're supposed to be for my type of feet/running style they still kinda hurt. I've heard of other people getting different insoles for these as well because the ones they come with hurt.

    Anyways the Pros are:

    * great looking style

    * breathable material

    * some-what light weight / was expecting it to be lighter

    * Flexible

    Cons:

    * Expensive

    * Not so great insoles / feet hurt after long runs and workout

    * Alot of padding on the heels / makes it look bad, you'll get what I mean when you see them up close

    I still haven't really worked into them yet but if my opinion changes I'll update.

    This is a Great Shoe, no doubt. I have been using this for the past 2 days and very satisfied with this shoe. I have very flat feet, over pronation, my height 5' 8 and 165lbs and I always buy Asics, but this time I was looking for something different for a change and went in for Brooks Beast based on the recommendation of the salesperson at Dick's sporting goods; but I returned it the same day. I personally researched and then choose Mizuno Nirvana 7 and wanted to buy it ASAP; but was hard to find in any local stores and hence I ordered it at Amazon and patiently waited for a week to get it. Great quality shoe, very comfortable and soft, so flexible in the front and the mesh keeps the legs cool and dry. Amazing shoe. Best Shoe I have ever had. (other shoes I use, formal shoes - cole haan, sports shoe --Asics, hiking shoe - cole haan) overall, I like the Mizuno the BEST !!!! Nirvana 7 is an Awesome Shoe. Bye to my Asics shoes.

    This is the first running shoe that is so uncomfortable, I'm actually thinking of throwing it away. I was swayed by the Mizuno hype to try Wave technology. Well its not for my feet. The shoes felt much firmer and stiffer when I first tried them on, this should have been a warning. After running for maybe 10-12 miles, for me that's 5 to 6 2-mile training runs, my left heel developed a sore spot. I can't even wear the shoes casually now without some lingering pain and discomfort. I feel like I'm walking in a pair of high-heel horseshoes. I have been buying Stability plus shoes, had owned Asics before, so initially I didn't realize how rigid and built up these Nirvana are. I was driven to try a minimalist trainer and the difference was immediate and outstandingly positive. I feel like I'm running almost barefoot (with cushioning) and with a very natural feeling stride. If it feels too stiff and firm when you try this shoe, or any of its descendents, on, don't buy it !
