3.0 out of 5 stars Nice glove, wish my kid was athletic enough to use it
This glove is good for children between 3 and 5 years of age. It's well constructed and has thoughtful touches like flex close and padding but it's a little stiff for small children (my three year old) to close completely.

4.0 out of 5 stars good starter glove, December 22, 2011

got this for my 5 year old (now 6) on the heels of getting him a t-ball glove. it's a solid glove, if you go this route, you should be fine.

having bought him a t-ball glove when he was 4, i noticed that the t-ball glove can be opened up more when he's attempting to catch a ball. basically, when you have a child who is just learning how to catch, she/he will be more likely to catch it with a glove that "opens up" wider. so although his new glove--this one--is nicer and clearly better made, it's a little bit harder for him to catch the ball. but this is something that can clearly be solved simply by having him practice catching the ball. the basic point here is that if you are worried that your child will get discouraged by her/his initial inability to catch a ball, you might want to look for a glove that opens up more than this one.

but having said that, this is a sweet little glove for my son, and i'm very pleased with it. more importantly, so is my son.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great glove, June 19, 2010
This review is from: Mizuno Prospect GPP901 Youth Baseball Glove (9-Inch) (Sports)
My 4 year old starting playing tee ball with this glove. He plays short stop. His fielding has been so good with this glove that he was moved uo to rookie ball and now plays with 6 year olds. The glove is easy to open and close.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Left Handed T-Ball Glove, January 9, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Rather than shop around the stored for a left handed T-ball glove for my 6 year old, I ordered this one from Amazon. Nice glove that he used all season with no problems. Not hard to squeeze so it helped give him confidence. I'm happy with the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Size confusion, October 21, 2011

Glove is great value for $20. But it isn't clear what ages it suits. I bought it for my 8 year old son and when it arrived it said it was for 6 year olds. Amazon/Mizuno should make it clearer ON THE WEBSITE the ages that their products are suitable for. I now have to give the glove away and buy a new one.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Like This Glove, September 22, 2011

This is one of the better gloves on the market for four and five year olds. The gloves fits well and the little one are able to close the glove.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice mitt, February 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought 2 for my 4 and 3 yos. They are pretty soft and have a cut that allows for easier closure. Doesn't require as much breakin. Good thing too.. because there is no way to get your hand inside this mitt to break it in for your kids. I just the traditional, oil, rub in, ball in pocket, wrap, oil, rub in..etc. Came out great.

My son is 4 and this is his first "real" glove. The glove fits him really well and seems to be pretty well constructed. It is soft enough for him to easily handle. Terrific glove for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stiff, but okay, January 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this for my son and should have sized him up a bit as he's nearly outgrown it just a few months later. However, it's a decent little glove for a good price. It is very stiff though, so you'll have to convince your little one to use it a lot and spend a lot of time sitting on it to wear it in well enough to be a really great ball glove. A couple of months since getting it, it's started to soften a good bit, but he'll be unable to use it by the time it's soft enough to use without stiffness. If you get it for a younger kid who can use it for a couple of years it'll be perfect, though, so that's why I'm giving it the high marks. It's a good price and well made, but I wouldn't suggest buying it for a kid over 5.
