Also, the specified size runs way too small.

My son had a youth size of these sliding shorts and grew out of them so I took a chance buying men's small (he's 5'6" 120lbs) and they fit great.

More of a compression short than a sliding short (no padding), but should be great.

I bought these and the (Easton Mens Bio-Dri Red Seam Sliding Shorts) to prevent chaffing when working out (biking, running, orbital, etc) These are perfectly comfortable, provide compression, and stop chaffing. The easton sliding shorts are very similar ( a little tighter) and about 40% cheaper.

Not quite as tight as the all spandex compression shorts, these are best for baseball (cup holder is a plus), but less good for football and other sports that benefit from super-tight compression that spandex provides.

I was originally going to enter a four-star review but then realized I don't have any negative feedback on the item. I use these for Crossfit workouts and they provide adequate compression/support while being flexible and comfortable to wear for extended workout periods. I may want to get at least one more pair.

About to order 10th pair in 4th year for my son. You can't find these anywhere but here anymore. The 90% cotton is the secret. With 10% lycra they get adequate compression but the softness and breathability of the cotton prevent the "swampass" the other players suffer. Baseball is such an active active sport it's hard to avoid the chaffing but, these shorts won't rub back and forth against the skin(especially the cup, it stays in place too) like with all polyester/lycra shorts. We're buying the next size up now for fear they won't be available when we need them. They are not padded but if you slide properly, extra padding not usually needed. Bottom line, my son has had maybe 1 mild case of "swampass" per year for last 4 years where all of his teammates who don't wear this, fight it to the point of not being able to walk easily and can't play some Sundays throughout the season.

These pants are long (almost to my knee), but then again I'm not a tall guy. They definitely get the job done and the price was right. However, they are a little thinner than normal sliding pants, but I don't expect that to be too large of a problem unless you're sliding on gravel.

Other compression shorts crawl up but these do not. They are baseball sliding shorts and thick. They are also long down to my knee.

not much to say about these sliding shorts. they are good, the cup pouch is deep, yet tight/narrow keeping the cup in place. these by the way, are much better than the old jock straps; sliding shorts feel wonderful. the only con I have experienced so far, since I've played catcher over the last few weeks, the shorts develop holes in the crotch rather quickly due to the squatting and pregame stretching. if the fabric in that area would've been double or thicker or something, they would get an even better rating/review from me. so BEWARE: if you play a lot of games (more than 10), while still 'useful', they will develop holes very quickly. other than that, they're good.
