I own two Lenormand decks. This one and the French Lenormand. I find that this one is the most accurate. If you're new to the Lenormand I would suggest doing 3 card daily readings. I'm still learning myself and I find by doing these daily readings, my readings have become more precise. The artwork on these cards are beautiful and colourful. Whenever I pull them out to read for friends they look amazed because they've never heard of them before. They also have told me that they've been accurate for them too. We really need more Lenormand material out there especially books in English on the subject. These cards cannot be beat!

Some of us make our living with these...!

All in all, this is a very good deck. The pictures are vintage paintings and the deck is from Austria...some of the pictures remind me of the countryside in "The Sound Of Music". And it's got that Piatnik quality: the card stock is durable and the backs have a nice design with parrots and roses in brown and white. Besides, the picture on the box of Mlle. Lenormand scaring those girls is a hoot! :)

As a reading deck, it's quite servicable. No drape on the Coffin, but the dark side of the Clouds is distinct, and the other cards that are "two-sided" are all functional: the Book opens to the right, the Scythe blade is on the left, etc. The Man and Lady can face each other, or not.

Highly recommended. A classic.

first off i'm new to lenormand cards.
my thoughts were that this is a nice set.
i love the artwork on these cards, nicer than the art on some of the other lenormand decks i have.
size of cards slightly smaller than standard poker set.
feel of cards is good. i like that they are not slippery like some cards can be.
they shuffle nicely.
instruction booklet has full meanings of cards and layout suggestion.
it's also written in the following languages english, german and french.
over all i like this deck and would recommend

I have fallen in love with this little deck, it has been very easy to read, and accurate for me from the start. To this point I have done several readings with it, one particular reading was very long, for a friend, and everything was on the money all the way through the reading with the exception of one thing, which is to be determined because of a lack of knowledge about the situation. I just got feedback yesterday telling me all the things that were on the money with the reading. I am connecting with this deck really well, and definitely recommend it. I also like the size of this one, I was worried about that because of using large spreads with lenormand decks, but this one is nice, small enough to lay out all 36 cards for a large spread, and to stick in your pocket and take with you while you are traveling around.

I gave away my first deck of Lenormand cards to a friend and needed to find a new set.
I chose these because the colors are bolder than the Blue Owl deck I previously owned.
I also like that this deck has the playing card inserts - Why? Mainly because some cards can double as people in spreads and so if you see the that there is a Jack, Queen or King in the insert you are alerted to that fact could be serving that purpose in a reading.
I also like that the pictures are traditional because for me that helps me to remember the context of the deck a bit better. There are a lot of beautiful modernized decks out there that don't necessarily capture the essence and scope of the cards message and meanings. There's something about keeping the Rider- a man on a horse vs. a man on motorcycle or bike etc. that keep it all in the right perspective. The book card on this deck shows an open book which to me is a bit different but okay. Also the the Clouds, Moon and Sun are all sea scape scenes that's a lttile bit different but it works for me as they are all emoiton cards and water as an element does relate to emotions.
These are a bit smaller than playing cards- the stock is nice and thick and they travel easily.
Hope this helps you if you are looking add a deck to your collection or buy your first.

This is a great little deck with a charming historical background. This is not tarot. This is a fortune telling parlor deck. And for those who give readings for just a little fun. Be careful. The information is brutally honest.

I've owned this deck, Piatnik 1941, for a long time since the 80's when I first started collecting tarot decks and bought this one and Piatnik 1901 the Zigeuner cards, from the same head shop. I don't really use this deck even though it's very nice looking on the surface, because there are a few strange things about it that bug me. First of all, the box. Hate Hate Hate the box, that's an Uber--Ugly picture on it and they need to change it out for a better one. Come on, is that the best picture they could come up with? Okay, so the booklet is great, and part of it's in English, which saves this deck from getting a 3 star rating. I did like the booklet, and you will too if you buy the deck. Now, these cards, hmmm, don't want to rub anyone the wrong way, but to me they look like vintage holy cards, not fortune telling cards. They have that smooth heavenly pastel Sacred Heart of Lenormand look to them (see the heart card), and some of the cards have overt religious symbolism that I don't really want or need in a cartomancy deck. The coffin is obviously a child's coffin, very creepy. The book is like a priest's open mass-book on an altar, the key looks like a processional cross, and the cross card itself has a bishop and the 4 gospel figures on it. So.....not designed for pagans, heathens, or the likes of me either. I think the pictures are extremely pretty though, enough to give it a good rating for other people who will buy it in the future, but it just doesn't resonate that well with me.
