Editorial Reviews

When Mo's (Erik Per Sullivan of Malcolm In The Middle) reflection is revealed, he sees a body that doesn't quite resemble any of his peers. Here he tells the tale of his youth, growing up on the South Shore of Long Island, New York. After discovering the reason behind all of his physical differences, Mo is forced to come to terms with a more serious reality: he will never be able to do many of the things that people around him take for granted. Join Mo as he takes us into his world of hanging out, discovering girls, dealing with shcool and the doctor's office, going to parties, trying sports, getting stoned and contemplating God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moving and funny, beautifully shot January 10, 2009
By Thespo
Format:Amazon Instant Video
An enchanting, moving, funny, and heartwarming film. Excellent performances by veteran actors who deserve the spotlight and an outstanding directorial debut. As you go on this real-life, colorfully illustrated journey with a Long Island family and friends, you can't help but think of your own. The story reminds us of life's small beauties and how we learn to make the best of what we were given.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must see December 26, 2009
Format:DVD
This little movie is wonderfully scripted and acted. It brings sadness and humour together in a very moving way. The disease itself like so many others that are not main stream needs much more research in finding a cure and realizing its symptoms before too late is of the essence. Great acting by Erik Per Sullivan, Margo Martindale, Adam Lefevre and all cast members and fine film work by Brian Scott Lederman and the crew. Suitable for family viewing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Synopsis January 5, 2009
Format:Amazon Instant Video
Every kid wants to be cool and fit in - life's a blast even when you're different. When Mo's reflection is revealed (Erik per Sullivan of malColm in the middle), he sees a body that doesn't quite resemble any of his peers. Here, he tells the tale of his youth, growing up on the south shore of Long Island, New York- How his parents support him, how his wacky brother keeps him laughing, and how his friends help him to escape. After discovering that the reason behind all of his physical differences is a genetic mutation called "Marfan Syndrome", Mo is forced to come to terms with a more serious reality: he will never be able to do many of the things that the people around him take for granted and he will have to prepare himself for a major heart surgery. As we venture away from our own realities, Mo takes us into his world of hanging out, discovering girls, dealing with school and the doctor's office, going to parties, trying sports, getting stoned, and contemplating God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Focus January 3, 2013
Format:Amazon Instant Video
This was an entertaining movie to watch. THANK YOU for not focusing the entire movie on the disorder but rather Mo's life growing up! This movie makes you think, but without being overly dramatic or sappy. I'm surprised there are not more reviews for this movie. Too bad, since it is better than a lot out there these days. Definitely worth the watch, for everyone.
