Scratch n sniff fun picture book featuring Mo the rescue dog,

Kiwi Magazine Review:
If you're going to create a scratch n' sniff reading experience for children, we can think of no better scratchers or sniffers than dogs. Mo is a rescue dog who takes his readers on a journey of the senses, particularly scents. The author wisely lets the reader place scented stickers throughout the book as they choose, rather than overwhelming us with pages of spicy pumpkin or sweet candy scents. We are particularly excited that she opted out of `wet dog,' 'something dog rolled in,' and `other unidentified dog scents.'

BUY IT FOR THE STORY, NOT FOR THE SCENTS,

I saw this in a magazine and loved the idea, plus some of the purchase price goes towards an animal charity. I bought all three books.
First of all, the story and illustrations are great...it's an xmas present so the kids haven't seen it, but I know they will LOVE it. As for the "scent" part, with this particular book there are included scratch and sniff stickers. The stickers are just as beautifully thought out and done as the book and there is a nice amount of stickers included. I put all of the stickers into the book, but I'd say you could put half in and let the kids have the other half to play with. As compared to the air pockets of the other books, I prefer this option, but wish the stickers were more scented. I don't know if once the kids open this and start scratching if the scents will seem stronger. Also, I like the idea of the stickers, but wish they were already placed into the book on the correct pages...it would eliminate them ending up anywhere else and would eliminate the kids fighting over where to put them. Plus that way the scents would be on the correct pages to go with the story. Buy this book because you are an animal lover and want to share a fun and heartfelt story about a dog with your kids. Buy it because you want money to go to the charity. Dog lovers will not only love these stories but also the story behind the character. But don't buy the book for the "scent quality" concept... consider that an "interesting bonus"...

I was really disappointed with this book. I saw the author on an interview and thought it sounded like a book that I could use. I am a teacher and I was excited that this could be something with sensory input that my students would enjoy. BUT, the scents are on stickers which you need to peel off and put somewhere in the book. Some have little or no scent. The story is only mildly interesting and has limited color illustrations.
