Interactive and unique!,

This review is from: Mo Smells Red: A Scentsational Journey (Mo's Nose) (Hardcover)
My daughter can't get enough of this book, all I hear is "read Mo read Mo!" Our family loves dogs so this is perfect, the illustrations are just gorgeous. The scents remind me of the scratch and sniff stickers I used to love as a kid, but are so much more realistic. I mean the strawberry really smells like a strawberry, it's remarkable. As a 2nd grade teacher I also like the fact that this book is well written, there are a couple of challenging words in it so my daughter has had to ask me what they mean and how to pronounce them. So she's learned from it too which I appreciate in a kids book. I hope this book is going to be part of a series, we love Mo!

BORING STORY - BORING SCENTS!!!,

Don't waste your money on these GIMMICKY books! The story is dull and the scents are just as dull - AND they all smell the same! You can do way better than this!

BUY IT FOR THE STORY, NOT FOR THE SCENTS,

I saw this in a magazine and loved the idea, plus some of the purchase price goes towards an animal charity. I bought all three books.First of all, the story and illustrations are great...it's an xmas present so the kids haven't seen it, but I know they will LOVE it. As for the "scent" part, each page has a little air pocket area with a scented piece inside and holes that when you press on it, air gets pushed out and that air has a scent that pertains to the page (one of the three books has scratch and sniff stickers instead of the air pockets). Some scents are stronger than others and really, the whole book is so scented from the moment you get anywhere near it that it's hard to smell each page individually. All of the scents are pleasant in and of themselves, but anyone sensitive to strong perfumes may not it. I'm wondering if once these books get opened and used more by my kids if the scent will be so strong or if it will disappear completely... it's kind of like opening one of those car air fresheners - definitely strong at first. Buy this book because you are an animal lover and want to share a fun and heartfelt story about a dog with your kids. Buy it because you want money to go to the charity. Dog lovers will not only love these stories but also the story behind the character. But don't buy the book for the "scent quality" concept... consider that an "interesting bonus"... a great idea, even well built into the book, but I wish there was some kind of button release so the scents could only come out when you want and not leak and mix together without pushing...

"non-senscentsible scents",

Problem with this book is all pictures with scents are on the back page. Some are extremely strong and interfere with some others. They smell more fake than real.
