Case weighs 6.1 oz, the iPad mini (wifi) weighs 10.7 oz bare. Total weight pushes the device to just over 1lb (16.8oz).

There are several very similar cases on Amazon right now. I settled on this one for the price, the placement of the case around the speaker holes (some of the other cases cover the holes), and the loop for a stylus (I happen to have one, although it sucks).

The quality is pretty good. The faux leather feels quite nice. It's not overly shiny or plasticky either. The case protects the corners and the screen cover portion is well-padded. The indented ribs for the multi-position angles are deep enough that the iPad does not slip out of them. The last position where it rests against the edge clip does not position the iPad in a very good typing position; it's still a bit too steep.

The case folds completely in half for reading like a book. The hand strap is surprisingly useful for this purpose. You don't even have to hold the ipad once your hand is inserted, as the tension of the strap will hold it in place. The bungee strap to hold the cover folded also works well enough, although I can foresee the elastic stretching out at some point.

Closing the cover takes a little effort as the middle clip needs to push over the edge of the ipad to lock. Opening is also a [minor] two handed affair.

Not the lightest case, but quite functional and looks good, too. For the price, I haven't found anything else even close.

Also, Sleep function DOES work. You just have to insert the ipad in the correct direction, with the Home button to the right. My case was all black with black stitching, unlike the one's in the user pics. Mine also only has one camera hole in the correct place.

I was one of the first to receive MoKo's "Slim-Fit Multi-Angle Folio Cover Case" for the iPad Mini. [ASIN: B0082YLJQ0] MoKo contacted me to advise that they were aware of a design flaw, already corrected. I could keep the original case (which works well, by the way) plus they would send me either it's revised replacement or I could try this newer design "Ultra Slim Lightweight Smartshell Stand Case". Since I was happy with the original case, I decided to try this newer, lighter one.

The package arrived today (November 13, 2012). Here are my initial reactions:
- It's substantially lighter than the "Slim-Fit Multi-angle Folio Cover Case". I believe that I will be able to comfortably hold the iPad Mini in one hand while it is protected in the "Ultra Slim"
- Magnetic sleep/wake function works well
- Front cover is a tri-fold design. Padded soft vinyl outside and micro-fiber lining.
- Back is a harder plastic case with the same micro-fiber lining. iPad Mini snaps securely into the four molded plastic corner clips.
- Holes are properly aligned for the ports (charging, earphone, microphone, sleep button, forward camera) and speakers.
- The front cover folds into a triangle which seems to provide a stable support for viewing videos, etc.
- I haven't found a way to recline the iPad Mini into a stable low-angle typing position. Note that this is NOT one of the positions illustrated in the product photos, so it not a defect. The fold areas seem to have a lot of "spring" and the hard back is slippery, so spring action makes the edge slide on a tabletop. (Perhaps this might improve after a break-in period?) Full size iPad folding covers have a quad-fold ... that extra overlap seems to stabilize the triangle.

OK, so the back is plastic, but it all looks nice/consistent, compared to the keys and top. So it works.

The keys are responsive, just the right amount of spring-yness to them, and the "island style" keys make the smaller keyboard overall area much easier to find the keys.

The function top-row alt keys (things like pause/next/prev/play vol up/down/mute, lock, brightness up/down, etc.) all work nicely. Compared to my iPad2 and ZAGG tray keyboard -- the "lock" button doesn't get past the "swipe to unlock" screen like the Zagg does, but it at least toggles showing/hiding that screen. (Update: actually, just don't use the lock special function key button -- just open/close it when in "hinged" mode and that wakes/sleeps the iPad automatically *and* locks/unlocks it, too! (You need to, similar to the Apple smart cover option, make sure you have the setting for "iPad Cover Lock/Unlock" set to ON if you want that excellent feature. 8-)

The back rail has a clever magnetic moving piece that attaches to the iPad -- you simply move the iPad from the "for typing" slot to the back and the magnet auto-sticks. You then fold the iPad down to the keyboard and additional magnets nicely turn off/lock the iPad. Easy Peasy!

I'm a geek, so I have the $10 iSSH app and ssh-ed in to work to unix terminal and fired up Emacs and tried various CTRL sequences (including some overrides) and most so far seem to be working. And that's actually for whatever reason a bit *better* than the Zagg so far (I sometimes got some bizarre "stuttering" repeat at times, but haven't seen it yet w/ the MOKO).

I trashed an awful alternate iPad mini keyboard in another review -- so the < $30 and free shipping make this keyboard the total slam-dunk.
