I think the research that went into this book, and the information obtained from it, could make for a great historical fiction novel or possibly a fictional memoir from the POV of one of the leading figures in Reno. Wingfield would be a great candidate for that. Had this book read more like a story and less like a text book for me, I would have enjoyed it much more, and actually retained more of the information (just the way my brain works). Ultimately, the book isn't bad, but for me it wasn't great.

Nice little nugget of history for Reno and Northern California. I visit Reno a lot and the book gives addresses where many people of interest lived so, I can retrace their steps. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Military History Nut
