I was hoping for a product that clamped firmly into the air vent. What I got was a device that clamps onto one of the louvers with two pincher hooks at the top. The bottom is just a pedestal that rest somewhere on the center column. My console didn't provide any good place where this could securely rest.

If you have a car with adjustable air vents (i.e. you have a car built after 1970 or so) this thing just dangles loosely and flops around like the tongue of the aforementioned canine.

Also, each of the front grips comes with a removable extension that grips around the face of your device. If you think you might want to use these, NEVER remove them because once you do they will just fall off on their own.

I wouldn't trust this piece flimsy piece of @#$% to securely hold anything I spent more than a nickel on.

We have a Tom tom xl## which constantly detach from the windscreen(very dangerous while driving) after removing it from windscreen a few times. We were looking for something that can be easily remove and not requiring suction. This is the best, it stays put and can be removed easily. Compare to the beanbag type(we have one for our Garmin GPS) it still slide off the dashboard if you brake suddenly(we have to Velcro and superglue it to the dashbard). I guessed we decrease the resell value of our car but we have no choice. Get this one, you will not regret it. Make sure you read the instruction carefully about how to adjust and tighten. My son proclaimed it flopping around and useless until he read the instruction and tighten the thing probably(anti-clockwise(go figure why???))and it is solid...

1. the mount holder grab GPS well! we hold garmin nuvi
2. price match the item,
3. 1st time adjustment was hard but once it settle is easy.
4. 3 lags hold the entire mount with GPS, it's ok.
some time I feel may not hold well,
but still working fine in the car..

I purchased this product because the suction cup mount I have for my Tom Tom One completely deteriorated. I would recommend this mount if you're looking for something simple. Initially the ball in the socket that holds the GPS was loose but the instructions explained how to tighten it. My only concern is the quality of the material that the product is made out of. The plastic seems a little flimsy and could potentially break if handled too roughly. Overall I think this is a decent GPS holder for the price.

I use this device in my work van to hold my GPS in the AC vent. It works great. No vibrations, puts GPS in easy reach.

Tried using it for several months. Tired of it falling off, I finally just threw it out. Cheap plastic, poor design, wouldn't stay mounted. Could have been better designed to have a tighter grip.

I recently purchased a GPS with a 7 inch screen and needed an option for mounting somewhere other than the dash. This product does what it says. The plastic clips that hold on the air vent seem flimsy but have proven strong. Various road surfaces did not shake the clips loose. I drive a PT Cruiser and was able mount it OK but may need to add a zip tie to better secure the unit to the air vent. When I drove over uneven railroad crossing it did jostle it. the zip tie will secure it perfectly.
I really like this- I can see my GPS screen without obstructing my view.

it doesn't sit on your air vents like it should; and when you can, the first bump you hit has it hanging from your air vent. thats if your lucky enough to get the crappy clips onto the air vent, they're flimsy like toys. I would not recomend this item

mount was perfect universal fit, however the quality isn't the best and it broke (but is still usable) after only a few weeks.

Yes, it is easy to use, to adjust and install. Just read the instructions. Really, though, how can you expect anything that is called 'universal' to fit every possible auto model? Or to last forever without wearing out? Or possibly to need a third party (generally you) modification? After all, this thing is hardly custom made for [...].
