Great Little Speaker!,

I have been looking for a portable speaker with good sound for a while. Most of the speakers available in the market are bulky and don't have a good look or feel. I looked at the X-Mini II Capsule and decided it just did not have enough character. I have bought some products made by Mobi before and when I noticed on their website that they were making speakers I decided to give it a try. I am very happy with my choice. The sound quality on this unit is excellent despite its small size. There is no sound distortion when you play at high volumes which was a very good surprise. I use this unit all the time with my IPad when I am watching movies and the experience is so much better. I love the characters and will be soon buying the Hello Kitty unit so that I can use the stereo feature. Everyone I play it for is surprised by how good it sounds. Looks like this will be my Christmas present to many of my relatives this year!

My Skully is really cute. I get lots of compliments on him. The sound quality is definately good considering its coming from a tiny unit like this. It charges quickly and holds its charge for about 4 hours just like the item info said. My issue with it is that it cuts out. It has no volume control, your volume comes from the device its connected too and the unit is supposed to automatically shut down if there is no music. I've found that my Skully doesn't seem to think that there is music playing unless my Zune's volume is at 10 or above and will therefore shut down if I turn the volume down. If you're trying to use this product to keep your music portable in a quiet setting this isn't going to work out well, the volume it requires to keep going is a bit loud to be considered background noise or quiet music. But if you just want to tote your music around and don't care who else hears it then it works perfectly.

Awesome Speaker, but doesn't function properly,

Well I got my skully a few days ago and everything was perfect until i decided to use it at night.I mainly bought it to replace my other small speaker which i used to just play some music while I'm going to sleep. Well Learned if it's too low, the headphonie will just shut off. Well the first series had an on/off switch, while skully and I'm assuming all model of the second series have the idiotic sensing unit that will turn on when sounds is high but turn off if sound is too low >_<. I suggest waiting for the next series which will hopefully bring an on/off switch or trying to find headphonies series 1.
Well the sound is very clear and it sounds great, i was actually very surprised by the sound, it can get pretty loud. This item would be completely worth it if it wasn't for the automatic on/off sound sensing unit Well if you love blasting your music everywhere and have absolutely no plans of playing your music low then this item is for you. Feb 28, 2010 "The unit had an automatic shut off and will only work at 70% volume." That is the response I got after messaging them. Terrible, a disclaimer should be provided. They don't even mention it in the manual, which i think leads people to believe they have a busted one.

The first one that shipped wouldn't fully charge at first and then would cut in and out when I used it with my ipod. We returned it and the second one charged, but still cuts in and out with the ipod.

Just got one and it's the cutest thing ever. The volume is surprisingly loud and the sound is clear. They plug right into my ipod and laptop, perfect for sharing music with friends. Looks like a cat skeleton, probably why it's so cute to me haha.
I kind of need a few of them now, one to go with everything!

Love Mobi KoKo Headphonies. The Headphonies are awesome and I absolutely adore him. I did want him for the office, but that's not possible because he turns off if he's not loud enough (quiet office, can't have super loud music). So if you want it for the office, don't buy it. If you want it for home or elsewhere, it's great!! The sound out of it is amazing, but it does turn off if it's too soft.

I ordered this, and like the previous reviewer mine kept cutting off. Returned it and ordered a 2nd one and I had similar problems with the 2nd one, so that one will be going back too. The speaker is really really cute, and would rate 4 stars if it wasn't defective on more then one unit. The sound when it did work was OK but there are better products available.

This was exactly what I was looking for to listen to my ipod at work. Perfectly small enough to fit right on my desk and Uber cute. I loved it- the first day i got it I charged it with the USB cable it came with and jammed all day, the sound quality was very good for the size and price. But the next day I charged it and it just stopped working right in the middle of a song. I tried to recharge it but nothing.. I called the manufacturer, sent them a copy of my receipt and have still not received my replacement. I didn't expect it to work for ever but I certainly expected it to last more than 24 hours. If it was just a lemon, it would have been nice if the manufacturer was true to their word and sent my my replacement already.

Makes my laptop suck less.,

I only just bought this for my laptop and iTouch, so can't attest to the longevity of the device. I will say, however, that it's the only peripheral I have which has to be *charged* before using (less than an hour). Furthermore, the manufacturer suggests you drain the battery entirely before recharging. The short cord you use to plug the Mobi to your headphone jack is too short for an iPod if you want to also do some work or play games on it. And don't expect to play your music quietly -- that's what headphones are for. On the upside, I don't have yet another power cord to plug into the outlet, and the speaker quality is much better than my laptop's and iPod's. At retail, it's far too expensive, but, if you see it on clearance, try it!

I just got this today and it works great. I read the other reviews after buying it and tried to reproduce the audio cutting out issues, but I couldn't, so it seems like the newer ones are working fine or something.
Cute and fun to use. Everyone at work has been asking me what it is! |
