The pitfalls of vacationing with your pet are many, but with a little foresight and organization the experience can be filled with sun, fun, and happily wagging tails. On the Road with Your Pet offers precautionary advice before even setting off on the road: don't take anxious or very young pets along, think about the weather (your pooch or kitty will not do well on a road trip to the Grand Canyon in the middle of July). Once you give yourself and your pet the green light, the guide is packed with information for flying, driving, and finding the ideal hotel or motel. More than 400 pet-friendly lodgings throughout the United States are listed, concisely organized by state and then by city or town. A sizeable chunk of information accompanies each lodging--displaying room rates and possible additional charges for pets. The guide also warns of animal restrictions (that pet boa constrictor may be a no-go), and details the hotel's amenities and services. The listings in this book are Mobil rated which means not only could we find places which accept pets, but they are nice for us humans as well! Best of all, Andrea Arden offers some great advice on teaching your pet to enjoy travel. The resource guides (especially on places to visit with your pet) are an added bonus.

This book gives really useful information in a simple and interesting format. I especially like the tips on places to visit with your pet.
