I was originally very happy with the price of this combo, but the old addage that you get what you pay for came back to wake me up.

The problems: 1) the charger does not automatically shutoff when the batteries are fully charged. This may not seem like a big thing for those that have the time to wait 18 hours for the first full charge and are ready to pull it out of socket. But if you make the minor mistake of forgetting about it for a day, the batteries overcharge and severly shorten their useful life. 2) Although the AA batteries state that they are 2000mAh, my little battery gizmo only show them at a little over 1600mAh. I expected a +-100 variance, but not 300+. This deminishes their usefullness as well and makes them useless in electronic devices like camera's or even CD players.

These are now in the toys of my grandson and we ended up replacing the charger to one that automatically shuts off. I do feel bad about this purchase because I originally gave this deal to several of my friends.
