Another tedious and poorly researched book from Hearn,
By concerned historian "Ulysses" (Chicago, Il) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mobile Bay and the Mobile Campaign: The Last Great Battles of the Civil War (Paperback)
Chester Hearn has produced twenty-four books. They share similar qualities. The research is poor, the write is dull, and the claims are absurd. Mobile Bay as the last major battle of the war? I guess the Battle of Atlanta, the Petersburg Campaign, Sailors Creek, Five Forks, Franklin, and Nasvhille were all inconsqeuntial by Hearn's reckoning. When an author resorts to hyperbole or faleshoods in a title, you can't expect too much better in the text.
