it was an ok book. i though it would tell me how to start up as a DJ, but it just told me things about if i had already been a DJ and wanted to build it into a full on business. if your looking for something to tell you how to improve your work and do bigger and better things with something you have ALREADY started... then buy the book.

This book, and its sister publication is fantastic, if you want to be Ray Kroc, and attempt to get rich franchising your cookie cutter product. The book describes very little about the actual methodology of performance, and focuses with laser precision on the mechanisms of salesmanship. The author rides high in the saddle, and rules over all the "bottom feeders" she surveys. This is the type of mentality I would think one who aspired to individual artistic expression, and freedom would want to avoid. Conform or be cast out. The content is concise, and informative in its own self righteous, conformist, and calculating way.

The book was way too general and really didn't offer any advice on the specifics of being a mobile dj. The book's font was quite big. I read it all in 2 hours.

The beginning of the book unfortunately was just general knowledge and fillers.

I was expecting an insiders view on the mobile dj business.

This book is a fantastic source for anyone wanting to start and operate a mobile DJ service......... in 1995!!!

Although solid information it is very very dated. For example when discussing new technologies, the Author suggests leaving a pager number on your answering machine and the best marketing tool she gives is to buy a full page ad in the yellow pages. The only internet resource listed is Ebay, and of course the companion website to this book. (Which also hasn't been updated since 2009). No mention was given at all to social media, Facebook or even Google. The games listed for breaking the ice were ancient and the equipment lists you must have included a new dual tape deck.

there were a few useful pages within in regards to contracts and planning, but a quick Google search revealed the same information for free.

I had high hopes for this book, but was sadly disappointed.

I purchased this book with two others on this subject and I found this book to be the most useful. I found it to be well rounded with information. It has sections on Mobile DJ Service, Club DJ Service, Equipment, Marketing and Advertising, Music, Fees, and much more. Eash section had the right amount of information. It still left me with questions but I thought it was a good start.

This book leaves nothing uncovered! As a dj wanting to start my own business I have found it invaluable in the guidance it provides! Well worth the money!

The book has some great general information, however it is very dated and does not apply very well to the digital age that we are now in.

The book reviewed all aspect of being a mobile DJ. The glossary in the back of the book is very useful for beginners and advanced DJ's.

I got this book when I didn't know anything about DJing. I read every page of the book, and it was fantastic! It was just filled with tips and advice for anyone who wanted to get into DJing. For example, it says some of the equipment you'd need to buy to be a mobile, different games you can play at weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs, how to get the crowd moving, and much more.
