This is my second bag in less than 2 weeks, that I have ordered through Amazon for my netbook. I recently purchase an 11.6" Acer netbook, looking for a bag I could use for the netbook. I ordered an 11.6-inch CaseCrown brand bag for it. Needless to say I was greatly disappointed with the bag and you will find a two star rating on it from me. Not sure about you when I purchase a bag for a Laptop or netbook I want to be able to carry the item without fighting to make it fit in the bag. On a second look, I found this bag and ordered it. Received it today and as the ad states my netbook fits without a problem, even with the battery attached. The bag has plenty of room for accessories and even provides compartments for pens and other small office related items. The bag also has additional side compartments for papers and even a blackberry or audio device like an Ipod. One item the Amazon ad didn't state, the bag is designed for travel with TSA regs in mind. The main compartment has a clear cover allowing for easy inspection. Over all the bag is well made, the shoulder strap is comfortable with padded cover and easy to adjust the length size. Simply put, the bag fits my needs. One item to note, I would have liked to have had a handle on the bag but that is just me... Highly recommended!

Like another reviewer, this is the 2nd bag I bought on Amazon. I have a Lenovo S12, and was looking for a good carrying bag for this netbook. The first bag I ordered was an STM Small Brink Messenger, which was too small when I put the bag in along with a neoprene sleve (for ease at airport security). I also didn't like the way the STM bag was constructed. It went back to Amazon.

The Mobile Edge bag appears to be well made. My netbook fit into the computer compartment perfectly, even with the 6 cell battery and a mouse dongle attached. The power brick & cord went into the mesh pockets under the front flap, and the mouse went into a pocket in the main zippered compartment, where there is plenty of room for other stuff. There's a large pocket facing the computer compartment (which I intend to use for an Ethernet cable), plus there's another pocket on the back, which will be great for a magazine or newspaper.

What I like best about this bag is that it is designed to go through airport security with ease. You just unclip the front flap (large buckle), then unzip the connection between the computer compartment and the main zippered compartment, and the bag opens like a butterfly, with the computer compartment in the middle. Thus, the computer is not blocked by cords, etc., and the whole thing can be x-rayed by TSA. It should pass right through the scanner at the check point. You then zip it together, reclip the buckle, and it's ready to go.

There's a nice pad integrated into the shoulder strap, which really makes this a very comfortable bag to carry. Don't believe the Amazon specs which say the bag weighs 5 pounds. It's very lightweight, and even loaded up with the netbook & gear, it is a breeze to carry - I doubt that the whole thing weighs 5 pounds. The one thing the bag doesn't have, which it needs, is a grab handle.

As to size, I put my GF's Macbook Pro 13" into the computer compartment. It was a VERY tight fit, and I had to take the mouse dongle out in order to get it in.

If you're looking for a reasonably priced bag for a netbook (up to 13"), you should seriously consider this one. The same company also makes a brief case style for netbooks, but that one doesn't have the airport feature. All in all, I'm very pleased with this bag. I looked online at a lot of bags, but I didn't want to spend $100 or more for a netbook bag.

This bag fits my needs - light weight, easy to carry, well made, holds my netbook & all my gear, and is designed to go through airport security - and Amazon's price ($36) is cheaper than the manufacturer's. I'm very pleased with this one.

I bought this bag for my 8.9 inch Acer netbook and it fits just right. it has an adjustable pocket inside for your netbook and the extra room is enought to fit all my cables. Its padded and theres No extra wiggle room so my netbook is safe. it also has extra internal pockets for books, school supply and some of my extra gadgets i always carry with me. It only has one external pocket and i wish it also had a handle, but honestly im loving this bag! its something I can take with me to school, work and traveling since its TSA approved. I must have for Netbook Owners.

I've had this netbook bag for awhile now and I am very happy with it. The hardware is good quality and materials are durable and thick and it looks cool too. It doesn't look like a "man purse". The shoulder strap is comfortable and easily adjustable. I like the added touch of a non slip rubber/neoprene pad on the underside of the shoulder pad, it helps keep the strap from falling off of your shoulder.

Inside the bag there are many usefully compartments for holding memory cards, pens, business cards, etc. And the "Checkpoint Friendly" zipper down the middle is a great touch, you can unzip this zipper and basically flip your bag completely open.

The accessory section is separated from the main Netbook compartment and is plenty big enough to hold my Power Supply Brick as well as a variety of USB cords and chargers for other devices.The plastic clip that holds the top flap secure seems sturdy and strong, I was worried about it in the beginning being ABS plastic but it is well made and being plastic will not rust or bend out of shape.

I also like the small Velcro closed pocket on the outside of the main top flap. I keep my cell phone, headphones and USB adapter for charging my cell phone in here.

My only complaint, and it is a small one, which led to a 4.5 star rating instead of a perfect 5 is that there is not a top "handle" built into the bag which would be very handy when picking it up from the back seat of your car for example. Instead you have to fumble around for the shoulder strap just to pick it up and many times your bag is sitting on top of the strap. If this last feature would have been added it would have been a Home-run of a messenger bag. However it is still a solid RBI Triple.

Mobile Edge apparently makes a very similar model with the top handle (Mobile Edge ScanFast Netbook Briefcase for 8.9-Inch to 13-Inch Netbook Computers) which I also looked at but after inspection, the model I am reviewing appears to have a larger accessory pocket on the side, better/stronger hardware and looks more like a Messenger Style bag with it's flip top cover flap.

I would buy this bag again as opposed to the other.

The transaction with Amazon went flawlessly (as always). My Prime Membership gave me free 2 day shipping and the bag arrived packaged well and on time.

Highly recommended.

So far I havent' had any problems with this product. I love how there is enough room for my netbook as well as a few other things. I bought it to be able to use it when I go to an onsite photo shoot, that way I'd have a lap top to let the people see how the pictures turned out. And like I said so far so good!

Pros:
TSA checkpoint friendly

Cons:
1) Even though TSA checkpoint friendly, the clip to unfasten the top cover is not readily accessible with two fingers, if the bag is hanging off your shoulder. You have to use one hand to pull up the top cover while doing it. Or you have to do it from below.

2) Too heavy and bulky for a netbook (2lbs). The entire reason you have a netbook is for light weight. This heavy case doesn't help in that regard.

3) What are all those loops for? Hanging things with carabiners??

4) No carry handle

The Mobile Edge Ultra Portable Messenger bag is perfect for my 10.1 netbook, its cords and a folding keyboard that I prefer in lieu of the netbook's keyboard. It also allows me to carry my Kindle reader as well as other small gadgets. It is the perfect carry-on.

SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE 13-INCH NETBOOK BAG WHICH HAD CARRYING HANDLES WITH THE SHOULDER STRAP. ALSO, THE OTHER NETBOOK BAG ADVERTISED WITH IT HAD A POCKET FOR A WATER BOTTLE...SO WAS THIS MESSENGER BAG PICTURED WITH A SIDE POCKET, BUT THERE IS NO POCKET ON MY BAG !!!!! I WAS TEMPTED TO RETURN IT AND EXCHANGE IT FOR THE OTHER BAG ADVERTISED WITH IT, BUT IT WAS JUST TOO MUCH TROUBLE.....I WILL BE MORE CAREFUL THE NEXT TIME I ORDER SOMETHING OF THIS NATURE - - - THEREFORE, COME THE NAME OF MY TITLE FOR THIS ARTICLE "WHOOPS! ORDERED TOO QUICKLY" JLG
