From the Publisher
MOBILE GHOSTS: Alabama's Haunted Port City is the first book in recent memory to catalogue Mobile's ghosts and hauntings. Those who love Mrs. Kathryn Tucker Windham's statewide "Jeffrey" series will welcome this entry to nonfiction ghost story collections. Comprised of three sections -- Public Places to Visit, Haunted Offices, and Haunted Houses -- visitors and natives alike will recognize familiar landmarks and historical events that shaped the city. Black and white photos illustrate many of the stories.
From the Author
Mobile's ghosts and hauntings finally get the attention they deserve! It was quickly obvious, after I began interviewing, that MOBILE GHOSTS would be a series of books and not a single title. Mobile has just as many ghosts as her better known, haunted sisters like Savannah and New Orleans.
All the stories in the book were taken from interviews with Mobilians who had encountered these ghosts. I also researched the background of historical homes and buildings whenever possible, to add context.
With MOBILE GHOSTS getting a great reception in its hometown, MOBILE GHOSTS 2 is already in the works.
