I recently got this in a complete system package: Monitor, PS1, Memory card, and carrying case. .... Was it worth it? Hell yes!!

There are definite benefits, for example, it can give you something to do when your girlfriend just has to watch those stupid mind-numbing Ally McBeal/90210/Friends episodes .... Or when your at work, bored out of your mind like usual... you can hide the system in the corner of your cubicle behind your computer monitor and steal a few minutes to play. This is must have gear for road trips.

Here are some PROS of this monitor: It attaches perfectly onto the new, smaller PS1 and the screen can fold down right over it. It attaches to the back of the PS1 with two screws that can be tightened without a screwdriver. It's compatible for use with N64, PS2, and Dreamcast too (there's a small kick stand on the screen that you can use if you can't hook it into a system). The graphics are surprisingly lush (quality LCD screen). It's backlit so no need for other light. Has volume controls and picture adjustment options (contrast, picture, tint, brightness). It doesn't need a separate power source. Has a headphone jack. It comes packaged with a car lighter plug so you can play in the car. Two speakers produce amazingly clear sound for such a small system. Definitely better than the Innovation and Pelican models (I shopped around for a week). A PS1 with the folded screen is compact enough to fit in the carrrying case (that you can get from amazon.com) without having you unscrew the screen everytime. Lastly, you can turn off the screen by itself rather than turning off the whole system in case your caught playing where you shouldn't be (remember what I said about playing at work?)

Now the CONS (only a few). Since it's only about ..., don't expect a large LCD screen like a laptop. It's a 5 inch screen (5 inches across diagonally). Because of the size, small dialogue from role-playing games may be hard to see (but not impossible). The screen is sometimes affected by vibration from the cd spinning, so corner of the screen may flicker slightly in brightness (not too badly).

Overall, the screen filled all my expectations. When you first get it, you'll probably say to yourself "I thought the screen was a little bigger than that." But you'll be glad you have it when you think about all the times it may come in handy to have a portable system. I know I am.

First off, everyone that has a PSone must gett this screen. Sure it is a bit pricey, but it is worth it. The picture is clean and sharp. This screen makes the games look a ton better.

I got the round screen. A lot of people are complaining about it. My friend got the Square one, so we compared. They were identical in picture. The round ones sound is a little worse.

Anyway, buy this screen, I don't even use my big TV anymore. If you don't have a PSone, go get one then buy the screen, that is how cool it is. I can't play it in the car for more than about 10 minutes at a time cause I get car sick if I play it any longer. I got the battery pack and played it on the airplane and at school, it is so cool.

...Here are the "Key" advantages that hopefully will help you decide to purchase this LCD screen: - Revised 5 inch screen - Push button "user" friendly on screen tuning i.e. volume,constrast,color,tint,and brightness. - car adapter a.k.a. cigarette lighter adapter (included)or ps1 wall adapter, ethier one of the two will power up both screen and ps1 unit. - Lcd self backlighting... no extra light needed to play while traveling or wherever you may be at. -Volume.. not 5:1 surround but do the job even without the earphones. For example, in gran tourismo 2 i can still hear the turbo whine from an engine just with the external speakers.=) -NO HASSLE ATTACHMENT. screen attaches to ps1 with two screws tightened by hand. And the ps1 can still be used on a normal t.v. without removing screen or turning it on. The screen can stay attached during normal use and not even be used. SO THE PS1 IS MOBILE EVEN AT A MOMENTS NOTICE... JUST DONT FORGET THE CAR ADAPTER.. FINAL TREAT-----On the back of the screen are 3 extra audio-video jacks (red,yellow,and white) for you gamers with muliple systems you CAN play your PSX 2, DREAMCAST,N64,VCR,DVD PLAYER, AND CAMCORDER THROUGH THE LCD SCREEN....

The only downside for the LCD screen and any other one is that small text maybe a little harder to read with the small fonts on games... but don't you play games enough to know wut it says on screen????? TONY HAWK 2, MATT HOFFMAN BMX, AND GRAN TOURISMO ARE ALL ABLE TO BE READ ON SCREEN..... HAVE FUN P.S. i love this screen. its plenty big for playing mulitplayer games on. you would think that a 5'' inch screen would be way too small to do anything, but i play crash team racing on it with my sister all the time, and the thing preforms awesome. it makes great sound, but at high volumes kind of rumbles, but when you plug in headphones, this thing is the best. i love everything about this. you can adjust the color, brightness and volume all from the front, below the screen. and also there is the power switch, and the game-a/v switch. you can plug any game system up to it as long as it has the red/white/yellow plugs, but it only mounts on the ps-one,and you would have to find another outlet to plut the other thing into. but it comes with a car adapter to play the system in the car through a cigarette ligther, and when you are at home or near an outlet, you use the normal power cable that came with the system, and both the screen and the system are power through the same cable, weither it be the cigerette or the power outlet. i love this item and i know you will too. the first day i got it, i dropped it on my driveway, but it worked fine, and the screen wasn't scratched at all. this is the better than the pelican, which totally sucks, and has the sharpest lcd screen that i have ever seen. its plenty big, and since the screen is small, yet has the same resolution, all the graphics look better, because the jaggedness of a big screen is cut down alot. i play rpgs on it and i can read all the fonts. but where it shines is single player (tomb raider, tony hawk), and multiplayer (crash team racing, grand turismo). buy this to play in the car and everywhere!!!!!!

This thing is great!! It fits perfictly over the PS1 so if you drop it should still work. I have it hooked up to a VCR in my room so it works as a tv. Great in a car but if your on a bumpy road it will skip a little.There is a battery pack out there for (dollar amount) and will power both units for about 2 hours at a time. The only thing that i don't like about it is that if your in the car you have to keep moving the screen around because of a glare.
If you like playstation then you should definitly get this!!!!

This is amazing. The square version sold here has a terrific screen, easy adjustment controls, inputs for other devices, and powers both the PlayStation and monitor off a single adapter. Text can be hard to read, but that's basically a size issue and not a knock on the quality of the monitor. The speakers go to a nice level, certainly more than I will ever use when on the go.

I initially bought the old round version of this and was pretty unhappy with it. The picture was MUCH worse, adjustment controls required a screwdriver, and you had to power the monitor and PlayStation separately! The input from other devices was some headphone-jack-sized thing I'm not familiar with. Plus, the speakers sounded really bad at the higher volumes. The round one is just the Pelican mobile monitor with the Interact name stuck on it, by the way, so stay away from the Pelican one as well.

In every single area this square version outperforms the Pelican/round edition. If you have the round one or the Pelican version of that, I recommend selling it and buying this--your eyes will thank you.

At first, I was skeptical about how good the screen would be, but that was before I used it. Using it's AC and DC adaptor, it can be used virtually anywhere, including some airplanes. The screen quality is crisp and the screen works well with most games. The only problem is that with some RPG games, the text is hard to read. Other than that though, this is a great product! If you are only going to buy one Playstation accessory, this is the one to get.

Hey just let me get one thing straight. this thing rocks! I went to allot of trouble to this model (square) even after I had already bought the vastly inferior (round) model. the round one just plain ... but back to the this one! i tend to disagree with other people about the text in RPG's, or at least Final Fantasy 8, i don't have a great deal of trouble reading the text, the problem is that that kind of game focuses on graphical details like subtle movements with the characters, and hidden items on the ground. besides those there arnt many real gameplay problem, its just...you can fight the battles...but you cant appreciate the beautifully detailed graphics in them as well. but all other games work great here. even small sidescrollers that i thought mite be a problem like oddworld or mortal kombat trilogy work great. those things i menchind about RPG's arnt as big problems as they sound. and (unless your very picky) you wont have any trouble with any other games. but games are just a fraction of what this baby can do. it has three phono plug inputs on the back (1 video 2 audio) so you can hook up ANYTHING with phono plug outputs! N64 PS2 most VCR's DVD and (almost surtenly) XBox Gamecube, and use them with the screen and speakers or earphone jack, youl get just as good audio and video that you would get from the PSOne(much better considering how much better graphics those things have. duh!), anywhere you whant to take those things! So while your PSOne may die in the coming years because of the lack of games, this screen will still have hundreds of uses.

This is not the 5" monitor show in the picture. It is a much smaller 4" monitor. I was very unimpressed with the picture quality. My GBA has much better picture quality! Numbers and words are nearly unreadable. There was also finger prints on the LCD behind the clear lens. The A/V inputs are a neat feature but I don't even want to use them as the picture is so bad. I'd recommend to stay away. This one's going back!!

Okay, if you love playing Playstation ... and you can't get ENOUGH of it and want to play it EVERYWHERE like, in a car, in your bed, somewhere OTHER than the T.V. this is what you need. It is THE coolest thing ever! It's so easy to attach, and easy to hook up to turn on! The colors are awesome and it's VERY clear. I highly recommened it. If you are interested, but not sure, i ASSURE you. BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT! It is so awesome. :-) Take it from the pro lol.
