Roger J. Cochetti

Roger Cochetti currently leads a consulting practice (RJC Associates) that specializes in worldwide issues facing the Internet, computer and telecom industries, of which he has been a part for several years. He brings unique non-profit, corporate and government experience to this practice.

Prior to re-joining his consulting practice in 2009, Roger was Group Director of U.S. Public Policy for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the nation's largest computer industry trade association, where he directed the Association's US government relations. Previously, Roger served as Senior Vice President and Chief Policy Officer of VeriSign/Network Solutions, the provider of the ".com" and ".net" Internet domains. Before that, he directed global Internet and e-commerce policy for IBM Corporation and had managed the M&A function for IBM's Personal Communication Services business unit. Earlier, he served as a Vice-President with Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT), the US provider of international satellite communications services. Roger had been Assistant Director of the U.S. International Development Cooperation Agency (IDCA), an affiliate of the U.S. Department of State responsible for foreign aid and the Director of the Washington Office of the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA.)

In recent years, Roger Cochetti has helped found and has served on the board of directors of several Internet-related organizations, including TRUSTe, the Internet Law and Policy Forum (ILPF), the Internet Education Foundation, the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA)/Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), the ICANN Names Council, the Executives group of the President's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC), the Electronic Authentication Partnership (EAP), and many others.

He currently serves on the U.S. Department of State's Advisory Committee on International Communications and Information Policies and the Board of Directors of the Internet Education Foundation, the parent organization of the Congressional Internet Caucus. Until recently, he served on the Strategy Council of the United Nations' Global Alliance for ICT & Development, the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Public Affairs Council and the Board of Directors of the Family Online Safety Institute.

Roger has testified before Congress and lectured numerous times on IT industry and Internet-related issues and is the author of several books and articles on Internet and telecommunications topics. He is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World. Roger is a graduate of Georgetown University and resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
