Product Description

In this arkanoid your goal is to destroy moving blocks and static destructible bricks. Hostile robots will fight against you. Enemy ships and non-destructible blocks will prevent you from breaking bricks. Meteor Brick Breaker offers you 120 challenging levels.

Many power-ups will help you to cope with the task.

Some blocks contain useful bonuses - rocket enhancer, plasma ball, fire ball and various types of weapons and defense. Other blocks contain not so useful power-downs - for example, a rocket decrease or a slow speed.

Touch the rocket contour on the finger bar and move it left or right to control the ship. Tap anywhere higher than the finger bar to shoot or to launch a ball. You can also use trackball or DPAD.

A must for those who love retro arcade games!

I got this when it was the free app of the day (some time ago) and it is hands down the most played game on my Droid. My only critique is that it is TOO easy. I find that I always try to 'catch' the FAST icons as they drop down, as it speeds it up to the level it should really be playing at al the time.

Lots of different features: Fireball (breaks multiple bricks at once), hyperball (it turns green and wipes out each brick that it hits), normal gun (one shot/one brick) hyper shot (kills off several at once) and hyper shot (when it turns yellow) which wipes out the entire column in one blow. The other one that you rarely see is WALL, which basically means that no ball can escape; you cannot die, as long as you stay away from enemies that fire at you. It is a cool feature, and really a true gift, but rarely seen.

If they ported this over to PC, I would gladly buy it.

GREAT game overall!

Graphics are impressive, gameplay is lag free, innovation is top-notch. This, in my opinion, is the best brick breaker game available for android. A nice way to pass time and keeps you involved. Touch controls are very responsive. Fun game to play. Droid X.

There are *so* many brick breaker games out there, and a lot of them are total crap. This one stands out a bit, but isn't the best. Visually, it's pretty good. Graphics aren't the typical boring blocks and simple paddle you move back and forth. Instead, they've been modified to fit the game's theme. Powerups are detailed well in the help section and are not all the typical types. That addition of enemies trying to prevent you from completing the levels is quite welcome. Control is very good, which is something that will make or break a game. Not once did it mess up or leave me frustrated. There is a generous area for your finger to travel in, which keeps that finger out of the way while you watch the action on the screen. Performance was great, no slow downs, hiccups, or crashes on my Epic.

Meteor loses stars in my book for two things: sound and global leaderboard. There are sounds, and they aren't horrid, but neither are they great. They aren't in line with the theme and add very little to the gameplay. No background music either. There is a leaderboard locally for you to track your own high scores, but I feel it would need a global system to give it a star.

good graphics with smooth animation. this is a nice twist to the classic game from the 70s and 80s. plays well on EVO 4G running stock rom. most of the reviews here are b.s. check the android market usually the reviews are much better.

I will give credit to "Meteor" in one place. It's gameplay controls pretty well. I had no issues moving the paddle back and forth on the screen and the ball generally went in the direction that I thought it should.

With that said, everything else about the game seems like it's not quite finished. The background is static and never changes, the menus are bland and boring, and I don't even really know where to start on the sounds. No music in a game like this seems like a mistake...but when there is no music and the sound effects aren't even any good?? Definitely a problem.

Seems like a game that could be good with an update or two, but as it stands it's VERY mediocre. For the price of $4, I expected more. I'm glad it was the free App of the day...because had I actually spent $4 on it, I would be disappointed.

Sometimes in the App Store you get fresh new takes on older games, with colorful updated graphics, cools sound effects and backgrounds that resonate with the themed levels. Sometimes you get static background, lame tinny sound effects and the same game that came out 25 years ago. This game is the second of those two options.

The only positive is that my four year old son picked it up and played through level 3 before losing. That's almost 10 full minutes of fun for him and quiet for me for what it's worth.

Tomorrow, when this game is not free, I can't imagine recommending it to anyone especially not at $4.

Its a decent breakout clone, with the familiar power-ups, and seems pretty well done.

I was surprised to see the $4 price tag (why I downloaded it to check if it was worth $4 - compared to $1 games).

It's decent- but would fit better in the $1 range, but great for free!

My only issue is that on my tmob galaxy S it starts out slow (low fps) and eventually starts running correctly, even on a fresh restart.

Overall a great game for free, not worth it for $4 if you have a galaxy S, or have any alternative breakout clones for cheaper with power-ups, decent graphics and varied levels.

Anyone who's familiar with Pong or Breakout knows the basics of this game. You get more lives than on the originals or some of the other spinoffs I've seen (on easy mode, at least) which makes it less frustrating if you aren't very skilled (yeah, that includes me). I grew up on the Atari, so this was a nice flashback to one of my favorite early video games with a few twists. It also ran well on my HTC Incredible. I'd give it a solid 4 stars if it were always free or even 99 cents. However, I'm knocking 1 star because of the price. I give 4-5 stars to apps I'd recommend, and I just can't recommend this one at $4. If you're reading this while Amazon is offering the app free, go ahead and download. Otherwise, skip it unless the price is reduced.
