5.0 out of 5 stars I disagree
I thought this manga was very well done, the artwork is great and if you are a fan of the UC timeline you don't want to miss this! You get to see the very first use of the RX-79G Gundam used in the 08th MS team.

1.0 out of 5 stars Graphic Novel
It's interesting to read this popular series just to see what people see in it. However, after going through the experience, what a waste of time! The story line is poor, the graphics are poor. Reading backwards is okay, but the flow of the art work, as it is, is interrupted by the fact that English is read from left to right. Too bad. Much better material is...

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one Chronicle I hope I never lose!, August 25, 2011
This review is from: Mobile Suit Gundam Lost War Chronicles Volume 1 (v. 1) (Paperback)
This Gundam manga, sharing the same name as the video game Lost War Chronicles, shares the story of an experimental third platoon in the Earth Federation during the One Year War. While Amuro Ray and the Gundam are up in space fighting Char and the Zeon, this manga tells a tale of the Feddies on the ground doing the grunt work. The experimental unit gets a new combat operator named Noel Anderson to join the ranks of Captain Matt Healy of the third platoon and the experimental Guntank squad. As Anderson suggests one strategy, Healy advises a strategy opposite hers and goes into battle after Zeon reinforcements arrive. Their strategy wins the day but not for long. They're tasked with protecting a Big Tray land battleship against Zakus, Goufs, and the enemy's new hovering Mobile Suit. It takes the entire platoon to battle the enemy's relentless forces and their new Dom M.S. but Zeon wins the battle as the Big Tray is rammed by an unmanned Dodai Ys II plane. After the failure, the platoon is tasked with protecting a Medea cargo plane with supplies for the legendary White Base and the plane is piloted by Lt. Matilda! The crew must get the plane to safety all while fighting Zeon's new Mobile Armor, the Adzam, with the Federation's new suit, the RX-79[G] Gundam!

This manga is in one of my favorite Gundam categories and that is One Year War side stories. The main character, Matt, is basically a clone of Shiro Amada (from Gundam 08th MS Team) and his notion of not wanting to kill anybody during combat. Matt's belief that he can fight a war and try not to kill has saved his crew numerous times and they have never had a casualty ever. This manga really shows how hard the Federation struggled on the front lines and this story takes place right at the introduction of Federation Mobile Suits and around the time the Zeon introduced the Dom in Odessa. The art in the manga is fantastic and very well done and I really enjoyed it all the way through. It was neat seeing a reference to the White Base (Matilda being one of the characters from the original show) and showing one of the first uses of the Ground Gundam was just awesome! I highly recommend this fantastic, yet short, manga!
