Zig Zeon,

This game is supurb. While other people will complain about it being to hard as with some weapons the ememy suits can kill you with one hit. But if you have ever watched any of the Mobile Suit Gundam shows you will know that there's no chance that any Zeon suit could withstand some of the firepower in this game. Such a shot to the cockpit or bosters with a beam rifle or the twin 120mm cannons mounted on the shoulders of a Guntank. If you do find it to hard for you rework your attack route and battle codes, the ones the game gives you are rarely the best. Thats the whole point of being able to plan your own route. As for graphics, I would have to say that while the eviroment looks O.K. the appearance of the suits, both Federation and Zeon is beyond great. The game is divided into a variety of missions varying form recon to defense and escort. For each mission you can choose which teams will participate what equipment they will take with them, weapons, decoys, support fire, etc, and what route each team will take. This game can however get a little fustrating well you go and make a magnificent attack pattern that you think couldn't possible go wrong, and then it does and you have to go and rework your plan. So don't expect to beat every mission on you first try. And when you do lose because you acidently put yourself in a position with your back to the emeny and got killed rework your plan so you come up behind them and they get ambushed. In conclusion I would say that this is a great game to buy if your a moderate gundam fan or if you like squad based action.

Finnaly a realistic Gundam Game.,

This game is great, and I know you guys are going to get mad at me but this is way better then Journey To Jaburo.First of all its damege system is WAY better.Journey was ok,but did you notice how many beam slashes it took to take out a ZakuII?This game has better damege system.Another thing, its not all strategy,it is if you want it to be by planning youre onw routes and battle codes,or just go with the flow. This will be hard at first but when you unlock ALL the secrets such as secret pilots and Mobile Suits, youll be happy it took you long.My favorite suit is Mudrock in the game. Now for the bad sides: Its a little slow at first but youll get right on it. The good sides:Play as 14+ diffrent Mobile Suits, and youre favorite Characters such as Char, and Amuro.Better Damega System, and way better Graphics. If youre looking for a good hard realistic game get this,if youre looking for short but sweet and adventure get Journey To Jaburo.

Good Practice for the real thing.,

In this game you are given the perspective of those usally portrayed as "The Enemy" and you can realize that they aren't evil, but really just people. I like how well it expresess the realism of combat, how a plan you thought would work can fall apart, forcing you to think on your feet and how you could have the lives of a dozen men counting on you to make good decisions, decisions that could ensure a supreme victory or total loss. When I first played this game it was to humor my grandson, until I got to the actual combat, It reminded me of my days in the military during the Vietnam conflict, though the weapons were somwhat different, ultimately is was true war right to the core of it's being. I would recommend this game to any young military officer looking to practice strategy to hone his tactical senses.

Truely this game is has brought gundam to a new level. It's true that it will take time to beat and unlock all the secrets. But you must think with strategy especially in the level where you can't kill gundam because the mission is recon not destruction.Without strategy bye bye zaku but it can be beat i have with alot of time. A great buy for any gundam fan or non gundam fan.

Difference is not a bad thing.,

I thought this was a great game. However, if you are looking for a game very similiar to Journey to Jaburo, you will be suprised by the many differences in graphics, controls, length and gameplay. The graphics on this game are exellent, even better than Journey to Jaburo. The amazing explosions in Journey to Jaburo have not been changed much and the detail graphics of the Mobile Suits and the enviroments have been strengthened. Controls have been completely redone in this game and are nothing like Journey to Jaburo. To walk, you must use both analog sticks to look in a direction and to actually move in that direction. The simple task of shooting and changing weapons has also changed completely. You cannot fire your weapon unless you have targeted an enemy and your weapon is automaticly changed depending on how far away from the enemy you are. The length of this game has also been strengthened compared to Journey to Jaburo. The first time through the game is realitivly short and fairly easy. However, as you continue through the game it becomes extremely difficult, giving you several hours of exciting gameplay. The gameplay also has undergone several changes. In Zeonic Front you can earn different pilots (Char, Ramba Ral...) and mobile suits (Zaku I, Zaku II, Gouf, Dom...) to use on missions. You also have a larger selection of weapons (Missle Launcher, Machine Gun, Beam Rifle...) and you can also earn secondary items and weapons (Smoke Grenades, Night Vision, Scope...). The main difference in this game is that you are more of a team with your squadmates. You are the captain of (at most) 3 other Mobile Suits. You must also use more strategy in Zeonic Front because your Mobile Suits are so much weaker than the ones in Journey to Jaburo. In Zeonic Front, there is also something similar to Tactics Battle Mode. As you progress, you earn the Simulator Missions (About 35 in total) and in some of them you can play as the Federation and use their Pilots (Amuro...) and Mobile Suits (Gundam, Guncannon, Guntank...). This is a great game, though very different than Journey to Jaburo.

This game is cool, but I think bandai out did themselves. This game brings gundam to a whole new level. It has more than 40 levels. The downside is it's hard. I still stuck on just the fifth level. You shoul rent this game first.

I love this game 10 out of 5 stars but I dont recomend renting this one because its a long one. Dont underestimate it if you cant get past the 6th level (THE GUNDAM one) because the real fun doesnt start until you've come across a dom. It's graphics are mind boggleing along with some tight game play, and a bitter taste of stratagy makes this one a real challenge even for a true gundam geek. I've had it for over 6 months (not includeing the 6 game rentals)and havent beaten it until a little while ago, and I think that shows you what a challenge it is learn how to set up routes or know what support is best for each specific mission. The enenmies in this one are equal to you in all aspects of the game like fire power or armor and the farther you go the the more relient your allies are of you with your skills. There are some really cool new machines like the Gundam Mudrock or the GM S-armor. So, with all of these traites I think this is the best one out there (compared to FED. vs ZEON or Journey to Jaburo.)

Mechanized, squad-based action at its best!,
By Daniel Garcia Montes (Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front (Video Game)
My little cousin gave me this game since he didn't really play it that much at all. I tried the first few levels and I was hooked. Basically, you experience the One Year War through the perspective of the Principality of Zeon. So, instead of piloting a Gundam, Guntank, or Guncannon you get to pilot the Zeon mobile suits: Zaku I, Zaku II, Gouf, and Dom. This game is kind of like "Rainbow Six", but with giant robots, so fans of that game should get this one. Anyway, you play each mission with 2 or 3 groups and each group could have up to three mobile suits, numbering up to 9 mobile suits at once! However, the safety in numbers routine won't always help, because sometimes the enemy (Earth Federation) outnumbers your team by a long-shot! There are 13 missions in this game and almost as many training/simulation missions. Sometimes, the simulations can be more difficult than the real missions! Three of the simulations are almost impossible to beat: the first is when you must destroy the Gundam piloted by Amuro Ray. The Gundam is far too powerful to face head-on, so the best way to beat him is to make all the team members surround the Gundam or attack it all at the same time, get behind it while it faces your teammates, and take him out with a well placed bazooka shot or heat hawk slash.(Make sure that all your team leaders aren't killed in missions or you'll fail). The second hard simulation is when you have to destroy the Gouf piloted by Lieutenant Ramba Ral who is guarded by countless Zakus, Magellas, and missile turrets. The third one is when you have to destroy The Black Tri-stars piloting their Doms (which are practically unstoppable.) This game follows the Gundam series and you see how certain incidents in the series affect Zeon and your team, like the death of Captain Garma Zabi, the battles against the Trojan Horse, and the invasion of Jaburo. The gameplay is great and controlling giant mechs is certainly outstanding, so go ahead and buy this game whether you're a Gundam freak, giant robot fan, or cooperative game player. Although some missions are almost impossible, don't give up: if I can do it, you... might be able to do it.

Best Gundam Game Yet,

This is one of the best games I have ever played. You get to pilot your own Zakus, along with two other teammates with you. You get to plan own your missions and routes. You get upgrades on your mobile suits and get new pilots. It has a simulator that will help you train and practice. Some of the missions only last about 2 minutes while others can last over 5 minutes. If you really like Gundam, you should definitely get this game.
