Fair introduction,
This review is from: Mobile Web Design (Paperback)
The book is quite short - 102 A5 pages. It doesn't go into too much technical details. In my point of view it will be a good introduction chapter for a book about mobile web design. May be that the target audience is not developers but non-technical people, that will run away when faced bigger one.
There are a lot of links and web references. On one hand it's good, as one can go and investigate further, but book assumes that reader goes and really checks the pages. I buy "physical" books to read them while I'm travelling or when I'm somewhere off-line. Scratching the topic and then referring to a blog just keeps me upset because I can not check it right away. So I had to "re-read" the book, extract all the links that were interesting and check them out later.

Great book on mobile web design, doesn't cover advanced topics though...,
By
This review is from: Mobile Web Design (Paperback)
This is an excellent beginner's guide to mobile development. While it doesn't cover advanced topics such as redirecting users to a mobile website, serving video, or JavaScript for advanced devices, it has an excellent introduction to mobile web design. It covers WAP, XHTML and CSS and the development process, how to test on different mobile devices, and even how to promote your mobile website.
If you're an experienced web designer and are interested in developing for mobile, I'd definitely recommend this book.

This is a nice little snapshot of the mobile world. But so much has happened in the time since this book was originally published that it is out of date. Also - you can find 90% of this book published word for word on the web.
Save your money unless a new edition is published.

This book may have been worth the price when it was originally published, but at this point most of the info is out of date, or can be found on the web for free.
Needs an update.

Good for beginners in mobile web design,
By
This review is from: Mobile Web Design (Paperback)
If you know nothing about the mobile web, this book is good introduction for you.
It is very tiny book, doesn't go too deep, rather cover the basics and offer links to other resources. After reading of this book you wouldn't be able just go and make perfect mobile web design, but you will be ready to make your first experiments and avoid common mistakes.

Fantastic Book - Highly Recommended,
By
This review is from: Mobile Web Design (Paperback)
The important thing to know is that this book focuses on the key concepts and information required to plan mobile strategies, rather than specific code examples for building mobile apps and sites. This book enlightened me, changing my perspective on the role of design, and the needs of the user as it applies mobile content. Any designer, developer or business owner interested in stepping in to the mobile realm should read this book.

MAYBE 3 pages of useful text in this whole book (and that is being generous). In fact, the first 30 pages contribute nothing to the book and should have been cut by an editor. The only reason they couldn't (if there even was an editor, doubtful) is this would result in a pamphlet. Waste of $15.

If you've never ventured into Mobile Development and have no idea WAP is, then this book is for you.
Personally I expected a little bit more out of it, but it's alright.
