MobileMe Family Pack I had just purchased and signed up for Mobile Me a few days before my hard drive on my MacBook crashed. I had good backups of everything but my address book and contacts. Fortunately, those were all stored on my MobileMe account "in the cloud". After getting the new hard drive (thank you Apple Care) and reloaded my OSX operating system) & programs, I synced my computer with MobileMe *just like magic* all of my calendar appointments & contact information were just there. How cool is that?

If you have an iPhone and don't have MobileMe you are just simply missing out on one of the best parts of the service. In addition to the sync capabilities, you have access to iDisk which will give you a place to store photos and files that are accessible from any web browser. You will also have access to your calendar, contacts & email from any browser.

This is a hard-to-beat service and I would highly recommend the Family pack if you have more than one iPhone in the family.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I bought this "old version" and it arrived today. Entered the code and it worked just fine. Pick this one up while it is still available!!

We all know mobile me is not the greatest service...it is truly witnessing growing pains on a regular basis....it will someday get better. We have owned a family pack for a couple of years and it was coming up for renewal...Apple charges $149 to renew the entire family and Amazon, $101....the choice was clear. We bought it on Amazon and received it in 2 days....the box contains a code that you have to type in on a website to start the renewal process. Quite easy. Simply put...if you use the service for the family and you need to renew...save some money and buy it on Amazon.

I am a Mac user as I have stop using Windows and Linux. I find the MobileMe experience very good. Sure the launch at first was bad, but I never had any problems. I have my desktop calendar and contacts syncing to my MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and iPhone (3G). They are all syncing without any problems for myself and my spouse who is a Mac user as well (iMac - MacBook - iPhone (3G)). The family pack is just a cost efficient way to have 5 accounts. You can also renew your existing family account and still save money over what Apple would charge you for a renewal.

I also like the way I can post pictures, movies, and webpages. I tend use the MobileMe over something like Flickr or Picasa or Kodiak as I don't have to worry about my pictures being open for public use. Those other sites cannot guarantee that my pictures are deleted when I remove them from those sites.

The last item is that this service does give you access to Apple's support. I never had any problems with this support system and every time I had to ask a question, the support staff was able to answer my question and give a good explanation to help you understand the process.

This is a very good buy and I would recommend this product especially to anyone having the iPhone and want their contacts synced with their desktop and phone using MobileMe's cloud.

Mobile me is an interesting service if you use all the features. It does not do any one the great.. but does most of them well. Look into each feature in detail before you buy. Many of the features can be done on free sites as well or better.

It was a difficult transition, but everything is working great now. I like not having to enter names or calendar info more than once. The syncing features are improving on a daily basis. Being able to enter a name or date into any of my devices, and it be available on any of my other devices is a cool feature. I've had .Mac since 2001 and can honestly say that the only interruption in email service for me was during the mobileMe transition. Those interruptions are a thing of the past, and in the unlikely hood that there are more Apple will reconcile with customers like no other company. For the problems we have had thus far we were given 90 days free. Blackberry never did that with their numerous outages.

MobileMe did have a very rocky start last summer and turned away a lot of users. But I have to say I am very happy with it. It has been working very reliably since and it is a fantastic service. We have 2 iphones in my household and we have 2 Macs. It is amazing and so convenient that I can add an address book entry or create a calendar event or make an update on any of my devices and it near instantly and seamlessly updates all my other devices. How cool is that? I never have to worry about losing data. I remember how dreadful it was to manually update my contacts every time I got a new mobile phone. For less than $8 a month for a family pack at the $99 Amazon price is a hard bargain to beat for the convenience of just the synchronization service. In addition you get 20GB of storage (primary account) for mail, photos, videos, files. Well integrated interface from Leopard OS X into MobileMe for transferring files or uploading photos/videos. Family pack comes with 4 additional accounts in addition to the primary and each family account I believe gets 5GB of storage.

Now with the new "Find my iPhone" service just launched with the iPhone 3.0 Software update, the MobileMe service is all the more a necessity in my opinion. You can track your phone if you lose it and if it is stolen you can remotely erase all your data on the phone. And if you get your phone back recovery is a snap from your itunes backup. It is just cool that it shows you on a map exactly where your iphone is. I suppose it helps you keep tabs on your kids too if you need to.

Probably the only way to keep a multi-user family Mac situation in control. Allows you to ensure that preferences, email accounts, bookmarks, calendars and contacts are fully synchronized. Worthwhile, particularly if you purchase at lower Amazon price.

Mobile me Rocks. Although most of what I wanted to do I could have done with a single unit, I used the family pack to give one to my brother and one to my sister to use in their families. The sharing of the calendar and contacts is great within the family. And since we all use different computers some apple some dell it makes them all share this stuff together. Its just what we needed.

Buggy at first, but everything works great now. I love how updated contacts, bookmarks and calendar changes on one device just appear on the others. This is sweet, enterprise for the rest of us!
