This has been an excellent product for me to sync address and calendar across 3 ipod touches, i pad, 2 macbook pros, 1 PC, as well as the mobileme website. I just change the information in one device and as soon as it has internet connection, it updates across all devices. Gone are the days where i am plugging in my phone to sync my calendar. And gone are the days where i forget to do a sync and therefore miss an appointment because I am looking at the wrong calendar.

I have multiple calendars set up within the calendar so that i have one for each family member and personal things. on any of the devices, i can turn off one or more of the calendars so i dont' have to see them all.

You can also mobile me to save things like pictures, files, etc to the mobileme "cloud", which can work as a back up---or, more commonly, be a way to share the pictures or documents you have with others--even those who don't have mobile me.

The "find your phone or ipad feature" can be a lifesaver. If the feature is turned on on your device, you can get find exactly where it is located. You can also send a message to the screen if someone finds it. One great message to send, that can freak someone out if they stole it is to type the exact address where they are located so it comes on the screen. my friend did this and the "thieves" then returned it to the lost and found at the airport later that day. You can also use it to wipe out your data on the phone, touch, or ipad so that other people can't have access to it.

you also get a mailbox, but i personally don't use that.

you can almost always purchase this cheaper on amazon than through apple. You can also still purchase the older version, sometimes at a reduced cost.

I set my Mobile Me account to alert me when it is time for renewal, but I do not respond directly to Apple. Instead, I come here and save almost $40!

I love Mobileme and this price is cheaper than the $100 Apple is charging.
But you can also buy an older version of mobileme or .mac and the activation they give you will work currently, and it is usually even less $.

With MobileMe I sync my desktop (I do not have exchange) Outlook calendar, contacts and mail automatically to my ipad. If I add a contact or delete an email on the ipad, it is reflected on my desktop without me doing anything. I have the 3G internet service for the Ipad.

Also, I am building a house and put my documents on the cloud of mobileme, now all I have to do is send that link to anyone and they have instant access to all the files. Big time saver, and if I update a plan I just change it on the Cloud, instead of emailing new plan to everyone.

I am adding this. I use Mobileme with outlook on my desktop at home with windows vista. It has slowed down my computer to the point that I disabled mobilme just to be able to function. I am still looking for a solution to this, maybe I can set it up once a day to sync instead of constantly. Just be aware in case your computer seems very slow all of sudden. I didn't realize what it was from for a while.

Further update:
I now go on my computer about once a week and tell it to sync to mobileme. This has solved the problem with having the computer slow down due to constantly looking for updates to sync.

iCloud, from Apple Inc, will be released this fall (2011). ICloud will be free and eliminates MobileMe. Apple is already processing refunds. For more information visit Apple's website, or MacWorld.

This product does exactly what it says. Just make sure you figure out what you are doing when you authorize it on two different macs (any combination of desktop or laptop). Also, make sure you read up on what to do when syncing everything with previous information already in your calender and address book, etc. When I first did it, I had duplicates, and then had to delete my previous entries for my new Mobileme account.

I've been using MobileMe since it was called dot Mac. I purchased this version last time because it is lower than through Apple directly (although a few times I've been in Apple Stores and was offered this price even when I wasn't buying new Macs/iPhone/etc.

I use MobileMe mostly to keep my macs, iPhone, and iPad in sync. I also use the BackToMyMy Mac to share my home Mac's screen when I'm on the road or access file on an external drive attached to my Airport Extreme. I loved when I bought my iPhone 4, I entered my MobileMe account and within seconds, my Safari Bookmarks were on the new phone, and the mail, addressbook and calendars were there as well. I've had some bad luck on iPhones over the years and so this comes in handy. And I love being able to mark a bookmark in Safari on one of my Macs and have it show up on my iPhone and other Macs nearly instantaneously. Same with directory updates.

Although I do backups with TimeMachine, I also use the MobileMe Backup app to move important stuff to the cloud. It is only 20GB, but that is enough to cover the important stuff in the event I simultaneously lost my Macs and backups at home. I'd be able to retrieve it from any network connected computer in the world.

The FindMyIphone feature is now free on new iPhones/iPads but I've used it in the past to find my iPhone when I've misplaced it in the house via alert. Unfortunately, the last time I actually lost an iPhone, it was about six months before the feature became available.

I use the [...] address and aliases mostly for emails from mailing lists/opt-in mail/etc. Even though I have a short dictionary name on the account, I don't get a bunch of spam. My mac address was part of that Gawker account and so more spam is slipping through these days. The [...
