The line in my review title is my favorite takeaway from this book, and it hits the nail on the head.
There's been a revolution in the past few years, and Rana is uniquely qualified to tell this story. She was there on day one, waiting for the first iPhone (when it was $599!), saw the need for analytics and co-founded a company right after the iTunes app store opened, and as the first "iPad DJ," took that platform to a place where no one else saw it going.
So if you're a developer, designer, or marketer that wants in on the app revolution, this book is for you. She takes the reader through the initial gold rush of apps, advises on the best strategies on pricing and marketing, and supports it with interviews with reporters from Wired.com and developers that have navigated the app world successfully.

No offense to app developers, but they're not the most marketing savvy bunch. That's OK because now there's a book for that. This book is great. I think I already recommended it to like 10 people, as a must-read before developing their own app. It gives a terrific insight on not just marketing, but on choosing what to build - these things go hand in hand. It's good to read it *before* you even start working on your app :)

This is an interesting, fast-paced read. Good, solid examples. I'd recommend to eCommerce marketing managers to gain insights into mobile, mobile marketing and understand the foundation for the field.
Title says it all. Try downloading the sample chapter for your kindle (or just read it i.e. 'look inside') and you'll see what I mean. Not much advice, just lots of filler explaining what the app store is and how successful it is.
