From the Manufacturer

Be comfortable: the design of Moby wrap for it uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby wrap is a wide piece of fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners. It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and your baby. Be secure: the Moby wrap comes with an easy to follow instructional guide, with the single stretch cotton and the width of the Moby wrap, your baby is wrapped close and tight, insuring a secure hold. Your baby's head can also be secured under the stretchy cotton fabric for added safety. Be uniquely close to your baby: there is not a lot of extra material or bulky padding between you and your baby. Your baby can hear your heartbeat and finds comfort in the warmth of your body, along with the cuddly confines of the Moby wrap. Comfortably supports babies from birth to 35 pounds - even twins. The Moby wrap is long enough to adapt to your growing baby. Moby wraps measure 5.5 meters in length and Moby DS measure 5 meters.  All Moby baby carriers can accommodate babies up to 35 pounds. Versatile: there are many ways to wear your Moby wrap. You can wear baby cradled, facing you, facing the world or as a sling.

I found the wrapping instructions a bit daunting at first, but it was easy after the first couple of tries.

This is just a REALLY long piece of fabric that you actually have to tie yourself.

I've had a Moby wrap since my daughter was born in Dec. of '09. She was a very tiny baby and I loved that I could put her in it all snuggled up just like she used to be when I was still pregnant with her. Since then, I've carried her in it to the store, the mall, the Zoo, brother's t-ball games, Easter Egg hunts, you name it. She was being a fussy pants yesterday so I just put her in it and she was instantly calm. At almost 14 lbs, she's not that heavy, but carry her around for a while and your back will feel it! Not with the Moby. The weight is disributed so evenly you really feel so comfy carrying a baby around. There are so many holds. I've used almost all of them including the breastfeeding hold! I haven't used any of the holds for back carrying yet because she's not quite ready. I just used the sling carry yesterday at WalMart and loved how easy it was to get her in and out for a quick run in. Just put your Moby on before you leave the house and stick your baby in when you arrive at your destination. I recommend getting a neutral or dark color if you're gonna be out and about with it. I bought pink first And felt a little conspicuous in public. Then I bought black and I guess if I don't have her in it people just think it's some kind of new trend! I truly couldn't live without my Moby! It's a wonderful way to bond with your baby!

My little one needed to be held for pretty much the first 2 months of her life. I tried using my Ergo carrier with the insert to regain freedom with my hands and arms, but it's just too hot in the summer to wear. In desperation I bought the Moby because of all the possible baby positions it boasted. I figured my daughter would at least like one of them. The first time I put her in the wrap, she calmed right down. Now at 4 months she calms at the sight of the wrap and falls asleep within seconds of getting in. The Moby wrap is like having an "off switch" for my little one and has become a part of our bedtime routine. I also love the owl print!

The Moby wrap is a great way to hold your baby and still get things done. There's something comforting for both Mom (or Dad!) and baby about being so close. The Moby came in especially handy when we were out and about at places where the stroller wasn't an option. I found that even when I could bring the stroller it was easier to wrap my son up and carry him with me.

It worked great until my son got to be about 18 pounds, then the stretchiness of the fabric meant he'd start to droop after a while and wasn't as comfortable to carry. At that point we moved to a soft structured ergonomic carrier. Until then, though, I couldn't live without it!

I wanted to love this. I read all the attachment parenting advice on how this is more comfortable and safer for babies than other carriers, and bought it before my daughter was born thinking I'd be a master baby wearer and prefer this beautifully personalized responsible wrap to all other carriers. I was wrong.

While we did find a carrier to be one of the best tools we had to calm down a colicky baby, the Moby Wrap was not The One. We tried the Moby Wrap, the BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Synergy - Black, Mesh (which I wanted to find fault with but ended up loving), and a Peanut Shell Boho Chic Paisley Baby Sling, Blue/Brown, Large. The Bjorn is by far our favorite and the only one we still use at 6 months. Our daughter seems really comfortable in it and often falls asleep. Despite what baby wearing 'experts' say, I believe that if a baby is uncomfortable he or she will not hesitate to let you know. My baby screamed more when I tried to insert her into the Moby Wrap than the Bjorn.

The biggest advantage to the Moby Wrap is that you can use it before your baby hits 8 pounds (I think that's the minimum for the Bjorn, although we mistakenly thought it was 10 pounds so have lots of pre-Bjorn experience). Surprisingly, we found the sling (our only post-birth purchase) was the best option during the tiny baby phase. At first I was terrified of using a sling incorrectly and permanently damaging my child, but it was actually super easy.

The thing is, you'll most want to use a baby carrier when your baby is feeling fussy and wants to be close to you.

I wanted to like this wrap, practiced wrapping it over and over again, and finally gave up. I wanted something simple and easy, so it would take a second to put on. This wrap is not simple or easy, it took waaaay to long to put on, and hearing my baby shriek while I was doing it drove me crazy. Plus, I was sleep deprived and exhausted, and figuring out fabric origami wasn't what I wanted to do after a sleepless night. I was never sure if it was too tight or too loose, and had to adjust it constantly. My son hated it as well, he was never comfortable in it. The wrap itself is hot and bulky, so I could not wear it if I took my son out for a couple of minutes. I would recommend trying it out "in person" before buying it. I bought a backpack style carrier, which is awesome and easy to use.
