I remember being two months pregnant, and I saw a picture of a friend using a Moby wrap for their newborn. I had no idea what a Moby wrap was at the time, but the baby looked so snug that I decided I needed one. Fast forward several months, and I had a Moby wrap for my new baby girl. Once she hit 8 lbs (which did not take long), I put her in the newborn hold. She hated it! She cried and struggled in it.

I was so discouraged because I wanted to be a babywearing mom. I was envious of those moms that enjoyed wearing their babies around. I tried a few more time different days and still she would scream. Then I read a tip saying for the baby to be comfortable, you must be a confident baby wearer. So the next time I put her in the cradle hold, I was confident and told myself that it was going to work. She fussed, but I just patted her butt and moved around. Sure enough she enjoyed it and even fell asleep. She continued to enjoy being worn, even though she was fussy at first.

Once she hit three months, I started to wear her in a different position. She loves to be worn facing me, and this is probably why she fussed when put in the newborn hold - she just wanted to stretch her legs and see what was going on. Now I wear her whenever we are out or whenever she is having a fussy time, and it works like a charm.

People always comment about how calm and comfortable she looks. I love that this wrap allows her to look around and explore her world and then be tucked in when she is tired. She will nap 2-3 hours in this position if I let her. Another plus of the wrap is that people do not touch her, which is always nice, since it is germ season.

Get this Moby wrap and watch a few free videos. I didn't have a lot of success when it was perfectly folded.

5.0 out of 5 stars doubtfulmom April 10, 2013
I am a first time mom and as a first time mom, I had NO idea what I was going to like or dislike for products so I bought a lot of stuff, naturally ;) I recieved a Moby wrap as a gift when another first time mom recommended it to me and I put it on my registry. When I opened it and realized it was basically a large sheet that you wrap around yourself and then place your new baby into it and hope they don't fall out, I was very turned off from it. I thought that she would just fall out as soon as I moved, so to be honest I kind of wrote the Moby Wrap off. About 5 weeks after my daughter was born came a day where she would not go down for her afternoon nap without being held, and as soon as I put her down, she got fussy again. I hadn't eaten since early in the morning and was starting to get very hungry AND I needed to pump. So I gave up on my deterence to the Moby Wrap, busted it out of the closet, read the instructions quickly and about 5 minutes later, had it strapped on with my daughter snuggly in place. My first surprise was how incredibly stable it felt. My assumption that she would fall out as soon as I moved couldn't have been farther from the truth! She was so snug and comfy that she almost instantly fell asleep, which allowed me to finally get a meal in! By the time I was finished eating she was well into dreamland and I was able to put her down without her getting fussy and was able to pump! The Moby saved me that day and all my doubts about it have been proven wrong. Now I wear my Moby almost daily, I love it, and so does she! I read the instructions once and was able to do it after that, I didn't think it was overly difficult to figure out. I also have a Bjorn carrier which I think is just as tricky to determine which strap goes where... I would recommend this to any mom.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit too complicated June 26, 2011

I got this hoping my baby would love it, but unfortunately it is a definite miss for us. The wrap itself is HUGE! There are so many ways you have to drape it and wrap the material, that it is such a pain. My baby also didn't seem like she could get comfortable. I would definitely recommend a sling or something that is a bit easier to use, as this one is difficult to get on and off...There is also so much fabric, I got fairly warm with it on me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moby Wrap August 16, 2011

I recently purchased this Moby despite owning several other slings and was NOT disappointed! I have 3 children for are all 3 and under, so having a wrap with good support so I can tend to the older siblings and the duties of the home has been so important. Also, I have a slipped disc in my back and so far this is the only sling I've tried that hasn't cause discomfort. I highly recommend it!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Colic March 12, 2013
My newborn loves this wrap! The only time he sleeps is when he's in it. I can load the dish washer, the washing machine, fold clothes and sweep now that I don't have to carry him in my arms all day long now. It is the best $50 I've ever spent. It is a little hard at first to get the baby snug enough in the wrap. It only takes a few times to get it right.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 child - 1st time wrap December 23, 2012

I love this wrap! I wish I would have had it from day 1 with my first child but I used the back-breaking baby bjorn. The Moby wrap is awesome! It disributes the weight of the baby all across your entire back. Doesn't hurt. Easy to figure out how to put on. Great way to snuggle with your little one and get stuff done around the house... or take on hayrack rides, or church carnivals, or meetings, or jewelry parties... it goes everywhere. Just wish they had some sort of carrying case for it - because its a lot of fabric, it's like a really really long scarf.
