Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Be comfortable, the design of Moby Wrap for it uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners. It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and your baby. Be secure, the Moby Wrap comes with an easy to follow instructional guide, with the single stretch cotton and the width of the Moby Wrap, your baby is wrapped close and tight, insuring a secure hold. Your baby's head can also be secured under the stretchy cotton fabric for added safety. Be uniquely close to your baby, there is not a lot of extra material or bulky padding between you and your baby. Your baby can hear your heartbeat and finds comfort in the warmth of your body, along with the cuddly confines of the Moby Wrap. Preemie to 35 pounds. The Moby Wrap is long enough to adapt to your growing baby. The fabric measures 5.5 meters "Moby Wraps" and 5 meters "Moby D" in length and can hold up to 45 pounds, and most people feel comfortable carrying up to 35pounds. Versatile, there are many ways to wear your Moby Wrap. You can wear baby facing you, facing the world, sideways, or on your back. When not being used as a carrier, the Moby can be used as a blanket, pillow, or as anything else that comes to mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful... even for the smallest baby., May 18, 2009
This is a wonderful way to carry a baby. My daughter is a preemie, born at 29 weeks, she is now 4 pounds and loves to be held close to my chest. This wrap holds her perfectly. This is the best thing I have bought for her yet. I love it!! Although you would think it would be difficult to put on but it is quite simple and there is really nothing that compares to it. I was given a top brand front carrier as a gift but the minimum weight is 8 pounds and it does not hold a bay in a way that will prevent them from slouching and compromising their airway. The Moby is the only way to use a carrier for my tiny one and feel like she is really secure.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh. Kinda great, kinda a pain., June 28, 2010
This review is from: Moby Wrap Asian Prints Baby Carrier, Symbol Prosperity (Baby Product)
There were so many raves about the Moby, and this design was so cute, and I liked that there is spandex with the cotton ...

But we've found that it's complicated to get it on and keep it on, and it's HOT!

The instructions and method are clear enough, but the place I most often want to put this on is in a parking lot and it's a mess to keep the edges facing the right way, and to keep the tails out of the mud.

Then I put little one in it, and he gets hot in nothing flat. He hates to let me slip the one side over to steady his head, the way you should with a newborn, because he gets too warm -- and having to steady his head with my hand defeats the purpose. Even in highly air conditioned grocery stores with very little clothes on him (and a cotton diaper, with all-breathable-fabric diaper cover), and light clothes on me ...

Wanting to take him from car seat to carrier when I'm out and about is just not working. I have to dress him warmly to be out, then somehow strip him down to try to stay cool in the Moby. And, I can't take him out of the wrap, get in the car, drive to the next store, and put him back in -- it must be completely re-tied.

It has to be re-tied often, in fact. If I put it on loosely, it takes very little time to loosen up such that he slips into a dangerous position for a newborn. If I put it on snugly, the whole thing rides up while I wear it and he slides down and my clothes end up all over the place.

I can see this being useful at home, if there's a way to keep your baby at a comfortable temperature. I'm an avid "Attachment Parenting" mom and big believer in baby wearing, but the Moby just is not working for us.
