5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Free VNC December 21, 2012

I use this app on my Kindle Fire (NOT HD) to connect to my Mythbuntu TV whenever there's a problem. It works really well and has quick screen refresh rates. No problems with it yet.

I believe you're limited to a certain number of connections and some advanced features don't work in the Lite version, but for basic usage, it's the best.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mocha VNC Lite November 14, 2013

my review is for the original "unmodified Kindle" (an Android device - which I probably shouldn't have tried anyway)

BUT, it worked, albeit a bit quirky at times, other times nearly perfectly - I was running "Real VNC Server" (obviously the Linux version of VNC server) on an UBUNTU server on my network and it connected. I was able to do most anything on the LINUX box. The program can be quite slow to start (at times) on the original Kindle, but it did work pretty well after it (it= the program and the Kindle) got connected.

I was running another Real VNC client on another Windows 7 machine simultaneously - both VNC client side software worked well even simultaneously.

So in summation, if you just MUST connect to a LINUX box, first using VNC and then using an original Kindle, it WILL work but bring your magnifier glass for the Kindle if you're as old as me. note: I think I was running 1024 x 768 on the Linux machine at the time. (a bit hard to read even at that resolution) BUT AGAIN, not to malign the program or programmer in any way. "It did work!"

My rating reflects only that is not "real handy" and on the Kindle, can be VERY slow to start at times (and it may have been the Kindle more than the program)

11/14/2013 <on edit> today after a series of UBUNTU updates I can "no longer" attach both programs simultaneously - both the Mocha and the Windows VNC still work but not together

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well February 7, 2013
By Norm
I installed this app on my Kindle Fire.
It connected to my computer which was running UltraVNC.
This was the only app that I tried that was able to connect.
This app ran fine.

It connects to an xp box 10 miles away through .dyndns service no sweat. When I try to connect to a win7 64 bit box sitting next to me running ultravnc the app crashes instantly every time. I've used mocha in other places for years but on a Kindle Fire hd, no luck with 1 combo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flawless December 17, 2012

It works very well and doesn't feel like a typical "Lite" app. The full version upgrade seems a bit steep in price.

Sounds like an amazing app, but my computer is ancient and not supported so I couldn't connect. Either way still sounds neat.

I have very simple needs. I only need to VNC into my personal printer server every once and a while to manage it. This program allows me to do that without hassle.
