Three years after Numero took on the private press with Ladies From The Canyon compilation, the label returns to Mitchellite #1 Caroline Peyton for a more thorough look.
Originally issued in 1972, Mock Up has been expanded to fourteen songs, including her three vocal cuts on the Screaming Gypsy Bandits In The Eye LP. Dug up in the process was a live performance at the Hummingbird Café in 1972 captured on film, which has been added as enhanced content on the CD. In addition to scores of unpublished photos, the booklet is jammed full of Edd Hurt s detailed liner notes that document not only the making of Mock Up, but also the Bloomington, Indiana scene of the 1970s.

Best album you've never heard,

Released in the 70s, this wonderful, low-budget album is full of remarkable music by a remarkable artist. Caroline does things with her voice that will make you wonder what galaxy she's from, but that's only half the story. Mark Bingham's compositions go way beyond the ordinary, and Caroline puts every ounce of energy she has into delivering them. This album will stick with you for decades, I promise you. Vinyl copies are collectors items. Too bad I wore mine out long ago, but what a treat that it's finally on CD!
