The most gorgeous voice in the world.,
By Morgan (Georgia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Model Prisoner (Audio CD)
I had never even heard of Adam Pascal before January 7 of this year, the same date I went to see the traveling company of AIDA. Granted, Adam Pascal was /not/ our Radames, but, after seeing the production, I was in LOVE with AIDA. I had already purchased the AIDA soundtrack, and I had received the RENT soundtrack on Christmas. And yet I still had no clue who he was.It didn't take long for me to fall in love, though. After listening to AIDA nonstop for about a week, I realized that the voice of Radames was highly familiar, yet I couldn't put my finger upon where I'd heard it before. Later that day, I was listening to "One Song Glory" from RENT, when it just hit me -- That's where I'd heard his voice before! Two weeks later, I was the proud owner of his cd, Model Prisoner. His voice is rough and soulful, and yet extremely relaxing at the same time. I've never heard anyone with as wonderful a voice as Adam. Adam Pascal is definitely my favorite singer, and I am very picky about singers. Ewan McGregor -- even though he's technically not a singer -- was my favorite singer for nearly two years before I heard Adam's gorgous voice. And now I can have an actual singer topping my list, instead of an actor with an amazing voice. I highly recommend this cd. And I recommend the AIDA and RENT soundtracks, which also feature his beautiful voice. I love Adam Pascal!

nothing sounds as sweet as this...,
This review is from: Model Prisoner (Audio CD)
There exists no words in the free world that can truly describe the beauty of Adam Pascal's voice :) There's something powerful and haunting in his voice that leaves you wanting more. And of course, for all you RENTheads, Adam's voice is as beautiful and distinctly "Adam" as it is on the RENT soundtrack - and we all know how GOOD he sounds on that!Model Prisoner is a brilliant CD - no doubt about it. I bought it as soon as it came out and I was not disappointed. The CD is highly personal, as you will be able to tell through the lyrics of each song. My favorites are "Liken A Razor", "Every Time Around", "The Time It Takes To Fall", "The One That Got Away", etc... Well, okay, I LOVE them all. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. At first I had expected something more like MUTE or APB - that sort of hard rock, grungy guitar type sound. But this CD is nothing like that. It's more folksy, more upbeat. But despite the initial shock, I fell in love with the CD immediately. BUY THIS CD. If you love Adam, you'll love this!

Adam Pascal is Genius,
By Emma (Washington, DC USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Model Prisoner (Audio CD)
Model Prisoner is a cd written by a man who also does lead vocals and guitar on the cd, who is married, starring in a successful b'way play(AIDA),starred in a play that he helped jump from off-b'way to b'way(RENT), is close with his fans, is not bad on the eyes, and even more. I mean, this guy can do it all. I'm not into the hard rock sounds of Mute and APB, his bands, so I hesitatedl, unfortunately, do purschase Model Prisoner. The cd rocks. It is, what I would call, Pop-rock. There are a few sweet, slow-ish ballads, a few more rock-ish sounds, there's something for everybody. So, with that said...go get the cd! Model Prisoner by Adam Pascal! You'll love it! no day but today, emma

Adam's Talent Shines in "Model Prisoner",
By
This review is from: Model Prisoner (Audio CD)
Adam has picked a great time to release his solo album titled "Model Prisoner". The opening of AIDA seemed perfect to release some of Adam's own material. Adam is a member of Sh-k-boom records, which is a small label working to bridge the gap between pop music and musical theater. Adam's co-star, Sherie Rene Scott, also has released a CD on this label. The CD consists of 12 songs written and sung by Adam Pascal. 1. liken a razor : a quiet beginning with an "Adam Pascal punch" suprise. 2. just here to the left of you : hip and catchy. This one could do well on the radio. A very energetic song. 3. every time around : soft and sweet. 4. model prisoner : a catchy beat. Adam seems to play around with his voice in this one. 5. which way to nowhere : slow and varied. This song has a relaxing power. Very Asian sounding with a great Cello solo. 6. the time it takes to fall : very country sounding, and a comforting song. 7. ordinary boy : a pure Adam Pascal song filled with energy and power. 8. cellophane sun : A bit of western sounding but with Adam's voice. 9. the one that got away : Very Western sounding with good harmonica background. 10. precious little meltdown : very rock, almost Billy Joel sounding. 11. rhyme and reason : sweet and comforting. 12. undiscovered : here background vocals can be heard by Adam's co-star, Sherie Rene Scott. This is another sweet sounding song. Well, Adam does a great job here with his first solo album. You can really sense the influence of all his inspirations like Iron Maiden,Queensryche,Elton John, and Billy Joel. A different Adam Pascal may be heard on Musical Soundtracks such as RENT and AIDA. the variety of music found on this CD really shows Adam's huge scope of music. I also recommend anything by Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) and Elton John. Also check out Sherie Rene Scott's CD "Men I've Had..." you can visit the website at www.adampascal.netRodolfo04@aol.com

Adam Pascal's Model Prisoner Rocks Hard,
By A Customer
This review is from: Model Prisoner (Audio CD)
Adam Pascal was once described to me as being able to turn on men, women, and stationary objects if he wanted to. Pascal's compositions and voice echo a deep emotional urge which is both sexy and revealing. He strikes a chord that reaches inside, with a sound that is all at once emotional and roughly beautiful. It is refreshing to hear such an honest sound from a performer in this age when so much of music seems lacking of just that. It reminds one of early Springsteen, writing with his guitar. The thoughts are clearly connected to Pascal's own experiences, and through his honesty and vulnerability, the listener goes on a journey with him through the album. I very much look forward to hearing more from him in the near future.

Sweet,

Adam has a distinctive voice that gets its beauty from the fact that it is like no other on the scene. His is a voice that cannot be taught. His album is very good and extremely easy to listen to. His songs are not exactly enlightening, but he makes up for it tenfold with his delivery. All in all this album is a grand adition to any disc collection...

Even though Adam Pascal may be a Broadway star, his CD "Model Prisoner" can appeal to everyone. His songs range from rock ("Liken a Razor") to unforgettable ballads ("Rhyme and Reason"). Pascal's talent shines through his music. He wrote all but two of the songs. My personal favorite off the album is "Rhymme and Reason." How could you not love a song that includes the lyrics, "Love don't need a reson. Love don't need to rhyme. I'm standing here pleading, while you just cover your eyes..." You will get chills when you listen to Adam Pascal's soulful voice and his emotional music. This is definitely an album to buy.

Adam Pascal: Model Prisioner,
By A Customer
This review is from: Model Prisoner (Audio CD)
As a avid fan of RENT, I had bought the RENT OBC about 5 years ago and basically havent stopped listening to it since. RENT was the best and most orginal show B'Way had seen in decades. And upon listening to this CD I heard this golden voice of raw power and soul. It was Adam Pascal. And as he has been equally brilliant in everything he's done since(Aida, Cabaret). So when he came out with this CD about 2 years ago, I bought it. I must say, I loved it instantly. Adam has a very distinctive voice. Filled with power, emotion and soul. His voice is ear-shattering....But in a really good way. And on this wonderful music journey he hits shades of 80's hair band rock, Heavy Metal, Pop, Country and infuses it with fresh modern rock for just a very strong CD.

I first heard this album at work, and was just amazed. I had to know who it was. Imagine my suprise when I found that it was one of my favorite voices in musical theatre today! I knew I had to have it, and have loved every minute of it. This is simply one of the best albums I've ever come across. His vocals are amazing, and the riffs are great. I would suggest this to anyone!
