There are better books on the subject,

This book (or should I say "booklet")does not live up to its title. It's not well organized, looks like it hasn't been proofed. in some cases the text is more suitable to a how-to clip on youtube than to a book. illustrations and pictures are very low quality and most of them do not serve their purpose, unless this purpose is to fill space on a page. some of the pictures are taken straight of the net, some are not in context with the paragraph they appear in.
all in all, this book is more of an overview of mold making and casting, but definitely not "an in depth manual" as described in the editorial review. if you know your way around mold making and casting, this book will not help you. if you know nothing about the above, this book will not help you either. I'm trying to find something good to say about this book, and all I come up with is its low price. not a good reason to buy a book, let alone a guide. I bought this book along with "The Prop Builder's Molding & Casting Handbook" - what a difference for 4$... bottom line: don't buy this book. put an extra 4$ and buy "The Prop Builder's Molding & Casting Handbook".

Good quality, modern approach to mould making,

I've bought a few books on mould making and most seem to end up being cheap reprints of really out of date manuals. This one is much more modern and covers a wide array of topics. The casting section is also very handy. Well illustrated throughout and a low price for such a specialist subject.

This is a fair book. The text is well written. Unfortunately the photos describing the process of mold making are terrible. Most were so badly reproduced or are unrecognizable. Only a few are you able to see what is going on, making the book almost useless. Fortunately for myself I have made molds for many years and know what is suppose to be in some of the photos but those I am unfamiliar with left me wondering what is going on.
