This review is from: Modelling the German15cm sIG33 Bison and Grille (Osprey Modelling) (Paperback)
As usual with this series, the author starts with a kit and adds resin and photo-etch after-market items as well as parts from other kits and some scratch-building to make super-detailed finished models. Not for the beginner, casual model builder, or the penny pincher.

For those who don't know about these, the Bison and Grille were tank chassis modified to mount a 150mm schwere Infanterie Geschutz (heavy Infantry Gun) for support of the infantry. These were low velocity cannon meant for bunker busting, not tank destroying.

This books covers the following kits (all 1/35 scale):

Dragon's sIG-33 auf Panzer III chassis
Italeri's Panzerjager I with New Connection's sIG-33 conversion kit
Dragon's (ex-Kirin) SdKfz 138/1 Ausf H "Grille"
Alan Hobby's Bison II
Alan Hobby's Grille M

4.0 out of 5 stars Stunning modelling....., August 14, 2006
This review is from: Modelling the German15cm sIG33 Bison and Grille (Osprey Modelling) (Paperback)
Another gem in the series from Osprey that focuses on specific vehicles to model.

While this publication, like the others in the series doesn't have a specific article for a straight OOB (out of the box) build it still contains such a wealth of information that I would recommend it to any modeller of German armor in WW II. It is always up to the modeller to add whatever level of detail they want to a specific kit and this book will give you all the details you need for this series of vehicles.

Above all, Gary's modelling talents and the clear photography featured in this publication are really worth the purchase price alone.

I highly recommend it to any German AFV modellers.
