Sniffing a tube of Tester's glue would be more productive.,

This review is from: Modelling WWII Figures (Osprey Modelling Manual Series, 9) (Paperback)
This book is not a How-to. The reader gets 5% instruction on how to paint figures, 65% historical background on the figure being featured, and 30% of product plugs. I knew I got the wrong book when I read " The camouflage pattern depicted is very difficult." That was it, no how-to, no method, no nothing. Stick to Shepherd Paine and Verlinden.

It is NOT a HOW-TO manual,
This review is from: Modelling WWII Figures (Osprey Modelling Manual Series, 9) (Paperback)
At the cover, it wrote 'The complete HOW-TO modelling guide' is misleading. I was very disappointed when I read the book. It is more of a product catalog rather than a how to.
I will not recommend this book to anyone. If you are serious in a good 'HOW-TO' book, search for this book 'Modelling Waffen-SS Figures (Osprey Modelling) by Calvin Tan'. It is comprehensive guide to figure painting. At the same time, knowing the author himself the person is a pro.

Modeling WWii figures can be easy,
By Chris Fox (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Modelling WWII Figures (Osprey Modelling Manual Series, 9) (Paperback)
Before I read this I had problems with the painting of figures, mainly the faces. Now I refer to this book every time I start a new diorama. The pictures are excellently detailed and make realistic painting of camoflauge easy and fun. Overall I'd say this book is an excellent tool for someone wanting to realistically dipict figures from WWii. I gave it four stars because it was not long enough, although it did have a vast amount of information, I just wanted more!
