Excellent summary of models of group psychotherapy, December 21, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Models of Inpatient Group Psychotherapy (Hardcover)
The book reviews group psychotherapy in general, and then has chapters (40 pages each +/-) on variou models, such as "interpersonal model" (Yalom style therapy), "problem solving model", "dynamic", "educational" "social skills training." It reviews the model in general, reviews research related to the model, and then has a brief transcript of a group using the model. It is excellent in all areas: thorough and clear summary of the model with good references for more detailed review; excellent research review; excellent ideas for actually implementing the model just by reading the chapter. My favorite group therapy books were by Yalom. This is "it" now.
