Very good Overview of US Armor, August 16, 2009
This is a very good, but short book about US armor. It is 85 pages, but jammed packed with valubable information. Published in 1982, it covers US tank history from 1945 to 1982. Each weapon system is given a short review and has author's opinions as to the strengths and weaknesses of each. There are many clear B&W photos, color photos and line drawings of the weapon systems.
Ample attention is given to varients of each tank, statistical data to compair heights, weights, numbers produced, etc.
The book is broken down into Armor, light Armor, Infantry Combat Vehicles, Mechanized Artilley and Air Defense Artillery.
Although many of the vehicles in this book have been retired, many still soldier on in our Army or others. I definately recommend this book to all armor enthusiasts.
