Electron Paramagnetic Resonance and Spin Resonance was a physics phenomenon discovered 52 years ago. Since then, the applications of this discovery to spectroscopy technology has advanced and spread into all areas of the Natural and Life sciences. Yet the techniques remain relatively new still to the Asia-Pacific regions. The Symposium of EPR/ESR (20-24 January 1997, Hong Kong) is the first of its kind to be held in Asia and aims to bring the state-of-the-art knowledge of EPR to end-users of this technology in this region, as well as knowledge on the related areas of Acoustic Paramagnetic Resonances (APR), Zero-field EPR (ZPR), Electron Nuclear Double Resonance (ENDOR), Optically Detected Magnetic Resonances (ODMR), and Electron Spin Echo Modulation (ESEM). These proceedings will contain the invited papers of over 10 international speakers as well as contributed papers. It will be a useful reference source for EPR spectroscopists, students and researchers interested in the applications of EPR, scientific officers and/or managers from relevant industries, and medical staff and health officers from hospitals.
