if you are replacing an enclosed doorbell, keep in mind that this doorbell needs a recessed drilled into your mounting location to accomodate the door bell button, as the plate fits flush against the wall. It was no problem for me, I just drilled into the siding. Works great, and the button light is bright orange. The button is a standard doorbell button. The plate is heavy brass in a very nice gift box.
