I have used MCP with three of my children. It is a great, low cost curriculum! Each lesson starts out with a real life application problem to teach the objective for that lesson. There is plenty of practice exercises, in fact I often have to "x" a lot off if I am sure my child understands the concept taught. Each lesson also has a "mental math" exercise to reinforce skills learned. I enjoy using a curriculum, like MCP, that stays on a math skill until is it learned rather than skipping around different concepts simultaneously. MCP is simple, cost effective, & an all around great choice for teaching math!

We have enjoyed using this series of MCP Math books in our homeschool. I love that they give each topic adequate attention. One of the things I enjoy most is that each lesson is one page, front and back. We work the front together as the instruction part and the back is worked independently so I can be sure the children have mastered the lesson. The lessons are an excellent length so the children get to work enough problems, but not too long so it becomes a drag. Another plus is that each chapter has a test over material covered in the chapter, and it is followed by a cummulative review over everything learned so far for the year. Both of my children have very different learning styles, yet they have both enjoyed this series and thrived using it. I highly recommend it!

As I was looking for the just "right math" book for my girls, my 15 year old said, "Mom, use this for them! I really liked it!" I think that speaks well for it, myself!
