Children who are exploited for labor are usually hungry or malnourished to the extent that they are poorly developed and may never reach their full height or development. Children who are forced into the commercial sex trade may show signs of having sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, kidney problems, and urinary tract infections.

Highly Recommend,

I bought a copy of this book at a special event where the author did a presentation on human trafficking as well as had a booksigning. I cannot believe the information I acquired during this event! I was so amazed by her discussion that I couldn't wait to read the book and learn more about this topic! I was so naive that I didn't think we still had slavery here in the United States - I couldn't have been more wrong! I cannot believe that children are forced into slavery, many times by their own family members.
This book is such an eye opener! The author is also a well respected lecturer on human rights; her contact information is in the book - she will come out and speak to your groups, businesses and organizations. I'm going to see if my Church is willing to bring her in for a human trafficking presentation.

The author of this book was fined by the State of Florida for falsely passing her self-initiated organization off as a charity, in order to solicit donations from elderly people. According to a local newspaper, "Where Cathy Paris lacked credentials, she invented them. Where she lacked credibility, she pilfered it from others." [...]
The book itself does not conform to minimal writing standards (it doesn't contain references or even page numbers), and does not offer any original information or analysis.
