Book Description

May 2001 1575886596 978-1575886596 3
Modern Dictionary for the Legal Profession, Third Edition is an extensive compendium of terms and their definitions for use by attorneys, law students, paralegals, judges, legal secretaries, and others connected with the legal profession. Unlike the traditional law dictionaries such as Black's, Ballantine's, or Bouvier's that expound legal terms and concepts, Professor Redden and Beyer have authored the first dictionary that focuses on terms from a wide variety of fields, which attorneys and other members of the legal profession are apt to come in contact with, but for which no ready source of explanation is currently available.

This book presents nearly 10,000 modern terms and concepts from dozens of professions and careers and international organizations, both private and governmental. In today's fast-paced world, every attorney must become a specialist in many fields at the behest of a client. This exceptional reference work provides memebers of the legal profession with a means to become familar with the popular, technical, and slang terms and concepts of the particular field in which the client seeks advice.

Modern Dictionary for the Legal Profession, Third Edition provides one convenient source for locating explanations of terms from a vast variety of subject areas. While designed to be a reference tool for the legal profession, it is also enjoyable to browse. The definitions are written in a captivating style that catches the reader's interest. Annual supplements are planned to keep the researcher up-to-date with the most current terminology.
